Trying a Pink and Orange Combo

So you know how much I loved Pomegranate and Pumpkin together, and I already showed how Tangerine Tango and Pink Pirouette look together. Well today I'm showing you Tango and Rose Red. I think it looks FABO! I'll have to try them with Choc. Chip next time. For this card I threw in some Kiwi Kiss. I've noticed throughout the catalog there are many samples with two different size scallops. Here I created that look with the 1 inch circle punch (just line up those circles on the backside of the strip of cs you want to use) and the corner rounder (for the smaller scallops along the bottom). I used the smaller butterfly stamp and inked him up in Tangerine Tango and only did one butterfly in Rose Red. That is the one I added the sentiment too. Aren't those little swirly tails the cutest? You can also use those as flower stems. I found I like to add something to the center of the tail end and this time I used the little flower stamp. I filled in some of the white space with the same flower only inked up in Kiwi Kiss. I accented those flowers with a little orange bead. Finished off the card with a little Tangerine Tango dyed grosgrain. I'm thinking this card will be one I do at my Catalog Kick Off workshop on Sept. 7! Stop by my demo website for more details.

I've moved on to the Butterflies

I have one more card I did with Inspired by Nature but I decided to give you a break from it. I'm feelin' a bit frisky today so I'm changing it up. Today I picked up the new set called, Flight of the Butterfly. While I like butterflies and think they are pretty and cute, I just don't feel them. So I was worried once I got this set home that I wouldn't know what to do with it. Let's just say, it is a fabulous set and I was on a roll this afternoon! I also decided today to quit whining about what I don't have yet (you know, that big order I just placed and that is still sitting in CLOSED status in the SU warehouse). So I don't have ribbon in the new colors, and the only DSP (designer series paper) I have that is current is Summer Picnic (and that doesn't contain any of the new In Colors), I decided to USE WHAT I HAVE!!! Isn't that what I tell my customers. I amazed myself today by what I came up with. It wasn't rocket science, but I was able to put the extra pizazz into my projects. I did three cards today, and I'll save my favorite for my next post.

The first one I'll show you here is inspired by the new dsp, Bella Rose. I love the pink and red polka dot pattern in that paper pack, so I made my own. I just punched out a bunch of pink pirouette circles (with the 1/2 inch circle punch) and adhered them to a piece of Riding Hood Red cs. I also love the color scheme of that paper-choc. chip, riding hood red, pink piroutte, and kiwi. So that is what I used here. I needed a little something to help make the sentiment stand out so I finished the butterfly tail off with a green rhinestone brad from the Ice Rhinestone brad collection. You can use this set without the Stamp-a-ma-jig, but for perfect placement I definitely recommend it! The next card is a color combo I came up (at least I don't think I have seen it before) and I just adore it-Baja Breeze, Kiwi Kiss, Pale Plum, and Pacific Point. This card is pretty straight forward. I did use the Birthday sentiment from the retired, It's Your Birthday set but I love it and will continue to use it (I did get the new Birthday sentiment set as one of my FREE sets from winning the SU contest in July-yippee!). The special trick I did with this card was the ribbon. Yep, I dyed ribbon again. I took white taffeta ribbon and just ran it across my Kiwi ink pad. I think I said this in an earlier post, if you use a sponge dauber on your finger you can spare an inky finger. Thanks for stopping by-Happy Wednesday!
Hugs,
