Day 2 Make-n-Takes!

By 3:00 on the second day, we were really starting to feel pretty tired. I think I am the only one at my table that actually finished all my make-n-takes. I was super excited to use my Favorite new stamp set, Inspired by Nature. There are four stamps in the set and the grass and flowers are Ginormous silhouette stamps. Check out that oval, it is a new punch-a wide oval and it fits this sentiment (I think this is my new motto!) perfectly!! The bag is a white gift sac that we carry and we covered the front side with Tangerine Tango cs and some ds paper. The dsp is from the new Prints Pattern paper. I think SU did another FAB! job in the dsp department. I think I could order $100 worth right away! Check out the scrapbook page. What a great color combo and guess what size it is? Give up? It is an 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 square page. We were a little confused by this, until we discovered that SU now carries an 8 1/2 inch chipboard album! Jaron showed us some very cool albums done with these and a Simply Scrappin' kit. I haven't added pictures to my page yet, since I will add this to a 12x12 page and make it fit the size I scrap in. Although, I think I will have to give the chipboard albums a go. I love that you can create your own cover. Isn't the flower in the left corner adorable? Here is a close up. It is the new Flower Fusion Too (the felt flowers just in new fun colors). The center of the flower is one of the beautiful new Designer Series buttons. YUM-O! The stamps used on this page are from a new butterfly set, Flight of the Butterfly. It is a pretty, two-step stampin' set. The final make-n-take project used the Flight of the Butterfly set, too. It shows the versatility of the set since this card shows no butterflies. Instead it shows how you can use the butterflies as background sets. I also tried my hand at the Coluzzle circle cutter. I can never get mine to work properly at home, I have come to the conclusion that I need a new blade for mine. The brad in the center of the flower is from the Vanilla Hodge Podge Hardware kit. This kit is awesome, and like I said yesterday I can't wait to place my order on the the 11th. Hope you liked all the projects we did. It has been fun getting to share the love! Have a great weekend! Day 1 Make-n-Takes

Depending on which track you signed up for, dictated which day you would do your make-n-takes. Our group, Track 7, got to stamp on the first two days. I loved all the projects, even the ones (yes, even the ribbon flower box) that gave me fits. I flubbed one card up and had to put it away until I could fix it at home, and didn't have time to make one during out allotted time (so that too, was finished at home). We worked right up until our time ran out on the first day. In fact they even shut off the lights on us. It was great to get a chance to stamp with my online friends, Becky, Danielle, and Kristin (and Vera on the second day!). This first card was the first make-n-take I did. This was the mess up. The image panel was actually supposed to be a debossed image of those flowers and then brayered with Tangerine Tango ink. I pressed too hard with the brayer and got Tangerine Tango in all the spots where it wasn't supposed to be. It all worked out, since I had the colors waiting for me at home. To fix it I just stamped in white craft ink onto Tangerine Tango cs and then sponged the edges with choc. chip ink. I wanted to emboss with white embossing powder but got lazy and left off that step. This little box and note card looks easy enough and it was up until I had to stitch the ribbon to create that flower. We all agreed that now we really know how our customers feel when we create a project that is a little too much to take on in a small amount of time. The end result in fabulous, but I struggled with this one. BUT, I finally got my hands on that new scallop edge punch and now I can't wait to get it! Aug. 11, can't arrive fast enough! I loved this third project and actually just completed it yesterday. Isn't it just the cutest little mini album? It uses two envelopes and two Tangerine love notes (3x3 size). Look at that ribbon! Yes, it is narrow olive grosgrain. We also got Choc. chip back and new Rose Red-I'm so excited!! Here is another view of the album from the side. I added a little tab to the back flap (which is an envelope that holds a little journaling scrap) so they know to pull out the little journaling scrap. Oh, and we also made the coolest book mark. It is upstairs in the book I'm reading so I forgot to take a photo of it. I love it and think I will be including this project in my next batch of classes. Just super cute stuff I tell ya!

Generous Gifts!

I know, I know, the Convention bag, stamp sets, and all the make-n-take products we received were not necessarily gifts (as my DH says, you paid for it all with your Convention FEE), but it sure felt like Christmas to me! First I have to show you all the fabulous welcome gifts my roomie and friend, Kristin showered me with upon arrival to our hotel. Isn't she just the sweetest! In addition to all the stamping goodies, there were lots of other practical items such as Tic Tacs, gum, and candy! I don't think you can see it in this photo, but there is a tin with my name embossed with Iridescent Ice and a belly band that matches the cute little note cards. I just love it! Thanks so much, girl!

Next is a picture of all the make-n-take projects we did. We not only got all the supplies to create them, but we got to take home a whole pack of rub-ons and chip board letters (we used five letters on our projects). SU did a great job of mixing up the new products and giving us a great sampling of the new ribbons, paper, and other accessories. I am a hands on girl, so to actually get to work with the ribbon (my favorite accessory) was a big Bonus! Over the next few days, I'll show you the projects up close. Hugs,

Hit Me With Your Big Shot!

Oh, wait, that's not how the song goes...Guess it's because I have the Big Shot on my mind. If you didn't hear the news, SU has partnered up with Sizzix and will now carry the Big Shot and have exclusive dies. It even has it's own cute little logo! I can't wait to show this to my customers. In addition to this news, there are oodles, and oodles of amazing new stamps, PAPER, RIBBON, and other fun accessories! I had a blast in SLC. If you haven't experienced an SU Convention, I highly recommend it. One of the best parts for me was meeting my swap friends, the GSG girls! We met up during lunch on the first day and they were all so cool. Here is a pic of our group (the girls that were able to attend Convention). Our convention bag was sooo cute and I loved all three sets they gave us. The closing ceremonies were so fun, but the best part was when we heard a "Ding Dong" and out came a UPS man (a hottie, I might add). We all got another FREE set. Talk about 1000's of stampers freakin' out! It was just like Oprah's big give aways! Confetti was flying, girls were screaming, and the Prize Patrol spent the next 15 minutes handing out out goodies. We got the very cool Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set (it coordinates with the new scallop square punch). I have lots of new ideas floating around in my head. I hope to have time to stamp today, my absolute FAVE set we got (a big, ginormous, silhouette stamp) is just calling my name! I'll be sharing other fun tid bits from my trip through out the weeks to come, I'm sure. Check back tomorrow to see the cool make-n-takes we did.
