I have been working with a new paper pack by My Mind's Eye, it's called {appropirately, I must say ;) } My Favorite Things. It's a new one from their Six by Six line. Love the colors and fun patterns. They were perfect for my circus cards.
First up, I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch, and LOTS of Die-namics. You'll see the gorgeous new elephant die from the CIRCUS SPECTACULAR SET. I added the fun, ball image to top off his trunk. I used the RECTANGLE STAX 1 & 2 for that larger panel and then the polka dot square was cut quickly, thanks to the SQUARE STAX 1 DIE-NAMICS.
A few mini stars from the STAR STAX play up the yellow throughout the card. The grosgrain ribbon is in the MFT boutique, Lemon Drop.
Here is a close up of the elephant. He's mounted up on an AWARD SEAL DIE-NAMICS, layered with the circle from the original FIRST PLACE AWARD RIBBON, and another circle from the CIRCLE STAX 1 DIE-NAMICS. I ♥ my circles.
While I had the FIRST PLACE AWARD RIBBON DIE-NAMICS out, I decided to make another one, complete with the fishtail flags, included in the set. It was a great place to add my "happy birthday" sentiment on the inside of my card. I also stitched on a strip of the TRIPLE SCALLOP BORDER.
Here is another look at the details on the Award Seal I made. That sweet little flourish is from the CIRCUS SPECTACULAR set.
Next up, is another card I made with the CIRCUS SPECTACULAR SET and DIE-NAMICS. I used the same color scheme as above, but decided to use some of the stamps to create a fun background on my card. This allowed me to create a more Clean and Simple card.
I repeatedly stamped the circus tickets across the bottom of my card stock and then layered on the teeny argyle stamp below that.
I had fun creating a collage of the die cut images.....this time I inked up the sweet seal. I placed him on the stand, and gave him a ball to balance on his nose. In the background, you can see the stamped Circus Train car....love the details Lisa added on this one.
Some Charcoal twine, a STAR STAX, and some black rhinestones were my embellishments of choice.
After I finished these two cards, I decided I needed to try a little girly feel on my next one. I had yet to use this set in pretty pinks. These papers are also from the same MME paper pack, but I added the MFT Kraft and Whip cream card stocks, too.
I cut one of the DESIGNER LABELS 4 DIE-NAMCIS and added some pattern paper and stitching and made this my focal point for a few of my animals and the other accents I added.
Can you see the embossing detail this die has. With one pass through of the Die-namics, you get the cut shape AND a great embossed border around the image.
A gorgeous MFT button and twine help anchor the pretty MIX & MATCH BANNER piece I used and the single TICKET STRIP I made.
Now check out the inside of my card.....
When I realized I had yet to ink up the gorgeous circus tent image, I knew right where it would go.....on the inside of my card. I also added another strip of the DOUBLE DOT BORDER, and a cluster of tickets. This time I added in a mini ticket and the Circus Token image. The MINI TICKET STRIP is too cute, to NOT combine with this set.
Since this card is perfect for a party invitation. I thought it would be a great surprise to add a strip of tickets as the perfect spot to add the party details. The new TICKET STRIP DIE-NAMICS allows you to make your strip of tickets ANY length.
I used lots of the smaller stamps from the set to add some stamped accents. Stamp them in lighter colors and they won't get in the way of your words. You can just tuck these inside the card.
Total awesomeness! I love the stamping of the animals on the kraft paper!
