MFT November Creative Challenge

This year MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a monthly feature, where we challenge our design team to explore their creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. For the November Design Team Creative Challenge - we'll be working with the vintage style. While I know some people are really intimidated by this style of stamping, and I used to be one of these people.  My first month with the Dirty Dozen on SCS was a vintage theme and before that, vintage was sooo not me!  I am no expert at it, but I sure embrace it,  I love to find projects done in this style, AND always have fun when I decided to make something "vintage" or "shabby chic" as I like to think  of it.

I've got two cards to share with you today. First one is a card I was fortunate enough to have recently been published in the Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More magazine. 

 I looove the vintage typewriter from Just My Type and with that fun little piece of paper coming from the typewriter, you can stamp just about any message you'd like.

I used the sentiment from Sending you a Little Christmas to turn this into a vintage Holiday card. Papers are Lilly Bee, a little Decorative Doily die-namic, distressing (I adore Tim Holtz distress inks for this)  and the seam binging ribbon helps finish off the look.  Oh, and I added a few flourishes from Own Your Story.

Since I was in the holiday mood. I made another one. This time inspired by some of the gorgeous vintage post card designer paper by Authentique.  I love that creating a vintage card is even easier with the use of plenty of vintage-style papers to choose from. Add a bit of distressing (I love my distressing tool, the one I use is by SU) and sponged edges with distress ink can really transform any card into a vintage look. 

Here I  used some  Simple Story Christmas papers, the new Inspired By Christmas stamp set and the First Class Friend die-namic to make my own post card look. I added a few stamped mail-elements thanks to First Class Friend.

I finished the vintage look of this by stamping the sentiment on the new Clearly Sentimental Label.  Tied it up with seam binding ribbon (I think seam binding is the perfect ribbon for ALL vintage projects!) and added some tiny jingle bells (these are my must-use holiday embellies this year).
