Happy Birthday Sugar Pea Designs Blog Hop

Happy birthday and 1 year Anniversary to Sugar Pea Designs. I was thrilled when Wendy asked me to be a part of the celebration! I adore their stamps and love to see this stamp company expanding their line. It's been a fabulous year and I can't wait to see where SPD goes!

Hopefully you have arrived from Brianna's blog, Happy Scrapper. If not then, please start back at the beginning with the Sugar Pea Designs blog. You don't want to miss any of the details.

I pulled out one of my favorite stamp sets, My Hero, to make this birthday card. I also used the current SPD Sketch Challenge for my layout. I simply flipped it, cuz I love making top folding cards.

Once I cut that strip of Limelight paper, and added the sentiment, I decided it needed a little bit of something extra. So I flipped through my Sugar Pea stamps for a star and pulled out Pure Magic.  I did some tone on tone stamping and scattered them around the panel, and just what it needed.

You will surely want to join the hop. There is so much wonderful SPD creations, plus there are prizes!! YES, it's Sugar Pea Designs birthday and Wendy is giving out the gifts!!

  • a $100 Gift Certificate to someone who comments on all of the blogs in the hop
  • There is a link up, too....come play along with the birthday hop and you have a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the SPD store. Details HERE
  • Want to SHOP??!!!  SPD is offering a coupon code: BDAY01 for customers to receive 10% off their entire purchase (valid until January 24th)
  • Blog hop and  LinkUp ends midnight, January 28th
  • Winners will be announced on Feb 1st.

  • I think that's all from me! Thanks a bunch for stopping by. Now off you go. Piali is up next!

    TCPTues282 {miss ewe}

     Yay! it's time for the next TCPTuesday Challenge with The Cat's Pajamas! You should come play along. Wendy has created a fun sketch with a cool tilted panel to work with. I pulled out the adorable sheep from Ewe Complete Me for my card today. I also flipped the angled panel, so it looks a little different.

    I stamped the ewes onto x-press it blending cardstock and colored them with copics. I chose some light colors and added some swirls for the effect of real wool. So sweet. I then cut them out and used some foam dots to pop them up.

    I added a touch of texture by embossing the white panel with the Dots Cut ups. Those giant polka dots look great with everything! A sweet heart duo from Heart Trio Cut ups showcase the sentiment. A Devine twine bow was added for the final touch. There is a great selection of colors in the TCP shop.

    Here is the sketch. Come join the fun....there is a prize up for grabs. All the details can be found on Alma's blog or over on SCS.

    Sweet Sunday Sketch 252 {You Rock-Birthday}

    It's been a beautiful weekend with lots of sunshine and a bit warmer temps. It's always a nice break in  to get a few days like these in the middle of January.  It's also a great day for the next sketch with Sweet Sunday Sketch.

    I love the new colors MFT released last month, and I LOVED the latest combo for their Color Challenge. So I'm linking this one up over there, too.

     I pulled out the Rock On stamp set and paired it with the coordinating Die-namics and the Celebrate Big sentiment set. Typerwriter text is in the background.

    I used  the Blueprints Die-namics 1& 2 and Accent It- Flags & Tags (looks like it's retired) for some easy details on my card.

    Here is the sketch for this week.

    Please hop on over to Karen's Blog for all the challenge details. You'll also find TONS more great inspiration from the Sweet Sunday Sketch Team.

    I hope you will join in on all the fun this week.  Please hop on over to see what the Sweet Sunday Stampers have created this weekend:
    Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful Sunday!

    Curtain Call {soft scarf-Dude Birthday}

    It's time for a new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

     I know, I know....what does a hamburger have to do with a soft scarf??
    Ha! Nothing!
    But check out the inspiration photo and I think you'll be able to see where
    I pulled my inspiration from.

    photo source: cottonandflax.wordpress.com

    I loved the colors from the photo
    and the texture of the scarf was
    a great inspiration for me
    to use the awesome Stitched Mats dies from
    Lil' Inker Designs.
    The stamp set is from our amazing sponsor, Hero Arts.
    It's from their Operation Write Home line and it's called

    OWH-Dude

    I used the current Sweet Sunday Sketch 251 layout for my card.

    We have a new sponsor, Hero Arts, for this challenge!  A randomly selected participant will receive SIX new clear stamp sets from the Hero Arts, while the LEAD will be invited as a Guest Designer in a future challenge!

    (insert additional project photos and narrative as applicable)

    The January release from Lil' Inker Designs. I'm so glad you are popping by. We are finishing off our 3 day hop, today. All the new stamps and dies are available NOW, in the store.

    You'll want to hop through all the Design Team blog and leave comments along the way. There are 2 LID Gift Certificates being given away. WoohOO! Free shopping....what could be more fun???
    I hope you arrived here form the talented Lea Lawson. If not, then be sure to start at theLID blog for all the release details, and Laura's awesome samples. That girl makes some CUTE stuff!

    I am soooo super excited about today's samples. The Robot Builder stamp set is over-the-top-CUTE!!! It works so well with the new Lollipop & Pencil Treat holder die. These are going to make perfect class room gifts this year! I know what I'm doing for Valentine's Day Treats this year. I nestled in a sweet little Stitched Mats-Rounded Rectangle to show off my roller skating bot!

    I loooove how you can customize each robot, exactly how you want it. Perfect! I stamped a matching sentiment along the side and added the "bolt" hole enforcer to stick with the robot theme. I think it's great that Laura gave us choices on this....more customizing, makes everyone happy.

    I have one more card for you today. I used a playful color scheme and paired up Robot Builder and All You Need is Love stamp sets. I created a frame to showcase the giant sentiment. I used the wonderful new Side Stitched Rectangles die

    Each piece of the robot are separate, making it soooo easy for adding different colors exactly like you. Super cute!

    Here's a closer look at the new products I used today.
    Pretty awesome stuff!!

    I'll send you on your way now. Remember, leave comments for a chance to win.
    Maureen is next!
    Thanks so much for hanging with me this release.

    LID Jan. Release {day 2 love & kisses}

    It's here! The January release from Lil' Inker Designs. I'm so glad you are popping by. We have 3 fun filled days for you, showing off all the wonderful stamps and dies.  We are on day 2, so be sure to check out yesterday's post.
    The new products  are all available NOW, in the store. You'll want to hop through all the Design Team blog and leave comments along the way. There are 2 LID Gift Certificates being given away. WoohOO! Free shopping....what could be more fun???
    I hope you arrived here form the talented Lea Lawson. If not, then be sure to start at the LID blog for all the release details, and Laura's awesome samples. That girl makes some CUTE stuff!

    This first set is red hot, awesome! Check out those lips!!! soooo much fun and there are three sizes.  The stamp set is called Smooches. I started this card out by cutting a smooth white cs layer with the Side Stitched Rectangle die. Don't you love it? This card is a little mixed media beauty. I had fun with some white gesso, and then after it dried, I pained on some watered down Gelato to give a pink washed look to the background.

    I then stamped the lips and added the sentiments over top. Finishing touches were the rhinestones and sequins. Here's a closer look.

    I have another lovey card today, showing MORE awesome new release stamps and dies, like this Doodled Love die.  I started with the beautiful Quilted Swirl Stitched Pattern die.  I then cut the word "love" three times in a fun color trio.

    Before I attached the die cut pieces, I did some stamping. Do you see the little detail I added? The little purple lips and "you" are from the  Smooches stamp set. I added on the pretty Hearts Banner for one more bit of sweetness. It's all mounted up on a Stitched Mats-Rectangle die. Here is a closer look.

    I'll send you on your way now. Remember, leave comments for a chance to win.
    Maureen is next!
    I'll meet you back here TOMORROW, same time, same place.....more sweet projects with Lil' Inker Designs.
