MFT Wed. Stamp Club

I'm busy, busy working on my Sneak Peeks for the Winter 2010 {ippity} release. I did squeeze in a few other challenge cards over the weekend. I used the MFT Wednesday stamps club challenge (It was a great sketch) to make one last Valentine's day card for my little guys. I had 2 done from the December release (remember this card-the second one?) and decided to use the same stamp and general color scheme to do this card. The sentiment is one the boys and I say all the time to each other. Isn't my little moon just the cutest???? Easy to do with a circle punch and embossing folder. I punched a hole in it, added a heart and tied it on with some silver twine! You can order this cute little bot (Love Machine) along with any of the other MFT new release stamps from last week at MFT!

Fishy Birthday!

So here's my little guy's birthday card from yesterday. I just adore this image by Stamping Bella. With our lake house and all the fishing we all do during the summer, I knew I had to have him. Sketch comes from last Friday's Bellariffic Friday Challenge. He's colored with Copics and the sentiment is a punny one from Papertrey ink! See you back here tomorrow! Hugs, Lisa

H{ippity} Hop Monday!

It's our last h{ippity} hop before our BIG release next Monday!!!! I know you are all anxious and excited. SO are WE!!!! We can't wait to start the sneak peeks-beginning on Thursday. Hold onto your hats, we've started a fabulous week!

It is kind of a strange week here in the Henke household. Today is my birthday AND my littlest guy's birthday. Isn't that just the best present ever???? Three years ago today, I turned 32 and was blessed with my 3rd child. In 4 more days we'll be celebrating my middle guy's birthday. I can't believe he is going to be 6!!!! And on a sad note, in the middle of all the birthday fun, tomorrow we will be celebrating the life of our dearly loved Grandma. Tim's grandma, Vinnie, peacefully passed away on Friday morning. She was 92 and we knew it was coming, but it is still very sad and we will miss her greatly. Thanks to all who have already lifted us up in prayer.

AND For today, let's enjoy a little love. The challenge this week is to create a Valentine's Day card. Play along for another great prize. Be sure to upload to SCS gallery with the keywords: ippity and IHHC10. My card is CAS and comes from last week's CAS challenge. It was a sketch challenge inspired by our own Kelly's card. I used the great, all-0occasion set, Because of You with some Nook & Pantry dp-looks good on chocolate cs, doesn't it. I also inked up part of the sentiment. Love that with these stamps-makes them more versatile. I actually had to mask off part of the words I didn't want with torn pieces of a post it. Inked up the words I did want with Vintage Cream ink and then took the mask off before I stamped. Works like a charm. ooooey, goooooey Chocolate!

Welcome to a Saturday edition of a Limelight Project parade. Each month, Mandy challenges the DT to a themed project. This month.....it's all things chocolate. I was inspired by the lovely, Nook & Pantry paper by Basic Grey-those strawberries were just calling out for some chocolate! I just adore chocolate covered strawberries...yummmmm! I scored this Martha Stewart punch on clearance at the end of Halloween-seriously, I paid $3.20 for it!!! I love how it looks like real chocolate dripping off the paper. I used Beate's treat pouch tutorial (which was actually something I made at one of my very first SU workshops over 7 years ago. it's so simple to make and such a great way to give a little treat.) and as little Valentine's Day yummies for my boys I'm going to give them each a chocolate covered strawberry placed in a cello bag (if I can fit 2 in there, I will). I made a card to match using the heart (embossed with chocolate craft ink and clear embossing powder-it looks like real chocolate too-mmmmmm) from the Unity Oct. store KOTM, and the sentiment from the Unity Sept. store KOTM. Both of those kits are ON SALE!!! The green gingham and ric rac and button are both at Limelight Papercrafts, too. See what else is on sale-Lots of Goodies, I promise.

Emboss Resist with Papertrey

I couldn't resist this challenge, hahah, NO pun intended!!! I love any excuse to get my Papertrey stamps inky. Nichole is celebrating the 3rd birthday of her fabulous stamp company. An AMAZING prize is involved, too!

I used Damask Design and Polka Dot Basics on this card. The colors are Melon Berry, Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate and kraft. I love how those polka dots peak through the fleur-de-lis (did I spell that right?)! I stamped the tiny dots in dark chocolate ink on rustic cream cs, then stamped the fleur-de-lis with Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I finished it off with a sponging of Melon Berry ink. It's a great way to add another dimension of texture and color. You can really see it well in the upper right side of the card. FWF-Inking up Some Oldies but Goodies!!!

I've got LOTS of new Unity and {ippity} rubber coming my way in the next week. Didja know that we are starting sneak peeks of the {ippity} Winter 2010 Release starting next Wednesday????? I can't wait for you to see all these fabulous new sets. Our release party is going to be on Feb. 15-so get ready for some fun! While I'm waiting for my new stamps, I like to bring out some old and give them some love. I pulled out this giant cupcake image (Sweet Yummy Cupcakes) for my nephew's 2nd birthday card. Sketch is from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch 59! I used some fun October Afternoon dp and a cuttlebug embossing folder to give this card some texture. Finished it off with some spiced marmlade distress stickles. Got these all at Limelight Papercrafts-looks like the stamp set is on sale!

I {heart} Limelight!!!

Seriously!!! Limelight is one of my favorite online stores and I am so honored to be a part of the DT. It is Thursday and it's another fabulous sketch and product challenge day. Since we are rounding the corner on our next holiday, our focus is on hearts this week. Here's the sketch:

I have to say I struggled with this, well maybe struggle isn't the word, but I sure played around with my card and just couldn't get it quite right. BUT finally, I did and now I'm happy! I was going to use strips of dp and I really, really wanted to use this fun cupcake,heart image-Pixies Make a Cupcake, by PinkCat, so I went with a more subtle look with the stripes. What do you think? I ended up scoring the soft suede cs and then inking them with Vintage cream ink. The dp is by Pebbles Inc, Loverly Flowers, and I'm sooo glad I found it in my stash-love the colors, AND it has hearts for the flower petals. The button and stickles (check out the pixi wings) are also from Limelight...see I told you Mandy has it all!!!!
