Project Parade with the Six Chicks!!!

It's Jan. 6 already and that means today is a treat day from the Limelight Papercrafts DT. Each month Mandy asks us to create a project with a coordinating card or packaging. This month our theme was Wearable Art!!! I knew right away I wanted to make a cute ribbon flower for my hair. With all the ribbon choices, Limelight carries, I had a hard time deciding what to use. I settled on this fabulous silk ribbon by May Arts. Here's how I did it. To make the flower, you stitch up one side of the ribbon, gathering it as you go. When you get the the end of your ribbon piece, you stitch up the two ends together. I ended up adding a gorgeous stitched brad by Basic Grey to the center of my flower. I love how it pops against the black. I then took a hair clip from my bathroom and sewed my ribbon flower onto the clip. This was really super easy and so fun to make myself a hair accessory (I can't believe I modeled this for you all, but in a house of boys, I was the only one around with hair long enough. Plus it's for me, so I'm happy to share it! Just don't laugh at me).
I thought if I ever made another one of these (just might for my nieces) I thought this cute little pillow box would be a perfect fit for the hair accessory! I used the same ribbon, added another stitched brad and a fun little tag stamped with the Chicks Rule sentiment from the Unity Sept. Store Kit....everything extraordinary! The pink polka dotted dp is from Duck in a Row dp pad by Oct. Afternoon. So, who would have guessed I could be crafty with my stamping/scrapping supplies and make such a fun wearable piece of art? Thanks for the challenge, Mandy! Be sure to see what other inspiring works of art the other Six Chicks come up with this month.

MFTeaser Day!!!

So are you loving the MFT teasers or what? Today we have an awesome new companion set I know you'll love. It's called Bling 'bers and it matches the awesome alphabet set, Bling Bet (looks like it's sold out at the moment, but I'm sure it'll be back in stock before you know it!). I'm happy to say I finally got my hands on that hot little alphabet (should be arriving any day!) and I was thrilled when this number set came in my Guest DT package. Not only does it have all the numbers, but there are some great phrases to use with the numbers. Once again, Kim thinks of everything. I'm bulking up my Valentine card stash, and had fun with this card.

I love that the numbers are polka dotted, so they matched my dp perfectly, BUT I was also able to add some bling to the dots and make my no. 1 stand out! MFT has a great assortment of adornments that will fit the dots just perfectly.

Stop by Kim's blog 11 am (EST) for the full list of MFTeaser's today. The release party and shopping begins tomorrow. Be sure to join us in the forum for chit cat, prizes, more sneak peeks and lots of fun!!! The MFT Blog Hop starts at 10pm (EST). Hugs, Lisa

H{ippity} Hop-2nd post of the day!

Today is day 4 of the MFTeasers, be sure to scroll down to see my post.

And, if you're here for some {ippity} you've found it! It's Monday, the first one of the New Year. My kids are back to school and the day is starting off right (at least I hope so, I've had this post done and scheduled for 3 days now! lol!-I'm thinking postive :) So our challenge this week is to use BUTTONS!!!! I {heart} buttons, so this was no challenge for me. I decided to finally put my {ippity} stamps on a layout. I've use this set, Life's Little Moments plenty of times, and while it makes great cards, it is a set more geared towards scrapbooking. I created this quick, clean and simple layout, adding fun accents to it with a variety of buttons.

It is a double page spread, so to complete the look for you, here's the right side of the layout. We took this trip a year and a half ago and I'm just glad to finally get it finished.
It was a great trip to visit Tim's aunt and uncle in Dallas. It was Nicholas's first air plane ride, we went the the aquarium (and Ryan held his nose the whole time-stinky!) and we had fun hanging out in their hot tub. Stop by the forum on SCS to chat it up and get all the details on this week's challenge. Full list of H{ippity} Hoppers is on the {ippity} blog! Hugs, Lisa

MFT-Day 4 with Pure Innocence

Pure Innocence is Pure Love for me!!!! Seriously, I'm can't get enough of these sweet images. Hold onto your hats, Kim is releasing 5, YES! 5 more of these little sweeties BUT, wait, there are not just little ladies anymore. YEP!!! there is now a sweet little boy to bring joy to your stamping collection. Me, being a mom of only boys, I've been waiting for this. I literally squealed when I opened my package!!!! Be sure to check out the Guest Designer challenge, it sure pays to play! Here's his debut and he comes complete with a cute little companion and two sentiments. Isn't he just sweet all bundled up? He sure is snow adorable!!!! Since we're talking snow, I thought I'd share another new addition to the Pure Innocence line up. She's a new kid on the block, too.
I just adore her curls and love her fun snow suit. I had to use some of my fave perfect plaid ribbon on this card, along with some new glittered adornments. They kinds of reminded me of snowballs, and I thought they added a nice touch to the card. Okay, off you go. Check out Kim's Blog for the full list of MFTeasers. Hugs, Lisa

MFTeasers-Day 2

Today for the MFTeaser I'm sharing the WTG and a coordinating Clearly Sentimental set. The famous headless girl, AKA, Who's That Girl?, is loving some chocolates and just in time for Valentine's Day. or any day, right? LOL! I couldn't help but pair her up with the line of Chocolate Kisses (there are papers, ribbons, and lots of adornments all in this line-makes it easy to make a great card!). I started out stamping the sweet lady on some white perfect panels. Pieced her with Chocolate Kissed dp, and colored with copics. I then mounted this all on a yummy chocolate scalloped note card (you can get these with THIS kit). So, this set comes with a few fun and clever sentiments. As a bonus this month, Kim is releasing a sentiment set full of more Chocolaty words of wisdom. I picked a few to make these super fast and cute 3x3 love notes. One of the things I love about this set is that it adds mileage to sets you already own. I ended up stamping one of the truffle images (3 times) from last month's release, Love at First Sight. I can't wait to see what the rest of the DT came up with. Stop by Kim's Blog (around 10 am, EST) for the full list of MFTeasers. See you back here tomorrow! Hugs, Lisa

Bringing in the New Year with Some MFT!!!

wooo hooo! I'm so honored and super excited to be hanging with the MFT DT again this month. I won the guest designer contest last month and that means I get to be here for the sneak peeks and blog hop for the January release. I know, I know, I say it every month, BUT you are going to LOVE what we have to show this month. I sure hope you got some Holiday FUN money, cuz you're gonna want to SHOP!!!! The first sneak peek we have is featuring the cutest owl, ever! Well, you know me, I haven' met an owl I didn't like, lol!
This little guy, Thinking of Hoo, has been available in a kit, but now he's a swingin' single and you can get him all by himself on Jan.6! I just love his fun little word bubble and this was the first time I've used the Hoo-ray! sentiment. I played up the fun colors of the Report Card dp by October Afternoon. I thought a few stars, some red stitching and the button were the perfect accents. Be sure to stop by Kim's blog around 10 am for the full line up of sneak peeks today! See you back here tomorrow for another peek at what MFT is offering this month! Hugs, Lisa

2010-Sure to be a Great Year!!!!

I know this year will be great. We had an uneventful, yet fabulous 2009 and I'm so grateful for that. I reached many of my crafting goals, so time to create bigger and better ones! Reach for the stars, right?!!!! I'm not one to make a bunch of resolutions, but of course there are a few things that I'd like to see happen. I'm hoping the same for all of you.

Tomorrow starts the sneak peeks for the Jan. release of MFT and it continues on through the 6th! I debated on posting something today, and I just couldn't help myself. So here's a page I did last week. I actually cringe to show you this, cuz I'm sure your tired of Christmas stuff... I know I am, BUT scrapbooking is ongoing (and I'm waaaaaay behind-just working ahead on this one so I don't loose the picture. LOL!).

Plus it's full of Limelight goodies and I thought you'd want to check out the Sales this week! The paper I used is from October Afternoon-Very Merry. The candy canes and journaling box are stickers from the same line. Plus, they're on sale!!!! This was such a quick page!
