Ladies in the Limelight!

This week's sketch and product challenge with LIMELIGHT was one I have been looking forward to. It's all about BUTTONS!!!! You know that buttons are one of my favorite embellishments. There are lots of choices in the limelight store. The cool thing is, they coordinate with all of the Basic Grey papers. I just love that!!!! Plus they are super great colors that also work with any other papers you might have! I used the Off Beat Buttons with October Afternoon papers. Here's the sketch.

And here is my card!

Papers are October Afternoon and buttons are the Off Beat Buttons (I've got three more packs of different buttons coming today ;) I just love this Unity stamp set, Something Within. The quotes are so inspirational! Pretty straight forward, I did move the buttons around a bit, but I still included three of them on my card. Give it a go and be sure to link your card up to Mandy's blog for a chance to win a prize!

Here are the deets for a chance to win a prize:

2 post MOnday! Scroll down for my Limelight project!

I've been busy with my Unity stamps! I've got lots of new goodies that have been asking to get inky! LOL! It's been hard to stay focused on which ones to use first. When I am feeling overwhelmed and don't know where to start, I will pull out 1 new set and work with that one for a while. I keep the rest out of site until next stamping session. So that's what I did late last week. I pulled out the new-to me, Everyday Adorable and went to work. Okay, so now I'm probably going to annoy some of you, hehehe! because I am saving those cards for another day.
Instead, I had a change of plan when I emailed Angela a few of my projects for her Guest DT spot on her blog. Instead you get to see the results of my creative burst yesterday (and the fact that I got a big ol' stack of pictures developed).I worked on this page and thought is was fun, with all these yummy Jillibean Soup dp (and one SU, Urban Oasis print thrown in). I just love this image, Heartfelt Memories by Unity. The flourishes are just beautiful, but I didn't want to use the heart, SO......I covered up the heart with the fun little frame from the July KOTM, Pocket Full of and let the flourishes stick out. The journaling reads," one of the highlights of our visit to Aunt Nicki and Uncle Bob was the rides on their Harley." I also added the cute little sentiment from the KOTM. Here's a close up.

There is one little flourish on this frame and I thought I helped tie the stamped images all together.
And just because I can't leave you without a CAS challenge card on a Monday, here is one I did for this week's challenge-Birthday CAS! Our dedicated and talented leader Jen (Miss Boo), wanted to have a birthday theme this week to honor her little boy (today is his birthday!). I used these yummy cupcakes from the December KOTM, Little Reminders and the celebrate from Sentiments 'O Simple.

Are you lovin' this new shade of turquoise? Oh, yeah, baby! It's the new Bermuda Bay by SU and it rocks. I think it coordinates with sooooo many other colors, SU or not!

Oh, and did you see this? What an awesome kit! If you want it, you better get down to your local stamping store and tell them to order this! It is only available for purchase through stores!

Looks like Unity will have a new Store Stamp Kit each month. Hmmmm, I need those strawberries for a page I'm working on. I just {{{heart}}} new stamps!
Glad you came by today! Hope you have a great start to your week! Hugs, Lisa

Stars and Stripes-Six Chicks Project parade

Can you believe it's July 6th already? Wow! The summer needs to sloooooow down. The good news is it means today is the Limelight Six Chicks project parade. Since we just celebrated the 4th of July, we Mandy decided to have us work with Stars and Stripes and I finally decided to get a home decor piece done. I can not begin to tell you how simple and quick this project came together. I have no idea why I have waited so long to do up a picture frame. Here are the products I used. The paper, ribbon, and buttons you can get from Limelight Papercrafts, of course! I purchased a cheap white frame and added a few embellishments and some cute little chipboard letters and I created this fun frame! I punched out the stars with my small and large star punch (by SU) and added some buttons to finish it off. I love that limelight carries these white chipboard alphas. You can color them any color with your copics. I used basic black here. See what you have and get creating. Really, it's that easy! Come follow me and see what the rest of the DT did with stars and stripes: Mandy, Amy, Lorie, Lee, JenMarie, Ryann, and our Guest designer AJ. ! Have a great week1 Hugs, Lisa

Happy Birthday USA!

I have nothing patriotic to share today (my red, white, and blue I'm saving for Monday. It's the Six Chicks project parade!) but I did want to take a quick moment to say Thank-you to all the service men and women who work hard to keep our country safe! Happy 4th of July!
I didn't want to leave you completely empty handed. So, I do have a cute little CAS scrapbook page to share. I was going to save it for later this week, but decided today is the day!

We try to go strawberry picking every year (didn't make it this year, due to a crummy crop at the berry farm) but last year we picked and this picture was the reward after a hard days work. Our friends, The Perry's, turned some of the yummy strawberries into homemade ice cream. We each enjoyed a cone later that night. The layout is from Jennifer Bucks CAS no.11 . Paper is from October Afternoon (ducks in a row) and chipboard letters are by Basic Grey. Get them both at Limelight Papercrafts! Oh, yeah, see that ice cream cone image? I love it-it's by Unity and it's from the June KOTM! It's a great weekend to do some shopping! Here's this week's Limelight special.
