MFT May Creative Challenge

So happy you are here to join us for the May edition of the My Favorite Things Creative Challenge. This month, April Showers bring May Flowers. The DT is taking some time to share with you the fabulous ways to use all the MFT Flower Die-namics. The boutique is chuck FULL of fabulous floral stamps and Die-namics to use alone or together. I have bouquets of wild flowers and Roses to day.

My first card shows off the new, Peaceful Wildflowers stamp set. I LOVE it. If you have not picked up this stamp set and coordinating Die-namics, I think you should. It is full of gorgeous sillhouette images of a great mix of flowers. I stamped them in MFT Premium Dye inks:  Berrylicous, Razzle berry, Orange Fizz, and Factory Green. I used the coordinating Die-namics, Wildflowers to cut out the images.

MFT's Smooth White cardstock is a great choice and really shows off the beautiful inks.

I  used some of the new stencils to create some backgrounds on my card.  They are really fun to work with.

I helped the Wildflowers really pop, by creating my Chevron background with the new Chevron Stripes Stencil.  I taped down the stencil and sponged on the Black Licorice ink. I stamped the sentiment onto a Fishtail Flag Stax piece with more Black Licorice ink and embellished the whole combo with a Black Licorice Button and trio of Hemp Twine bows.

I love using polka dots withe chevron stripes, so I also pulled out the Graduated Dots Stencil and sponged on some white ink onto a Facotry Green panel. I love the soft look of the sponged dots.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the same flowers, Wildflowers,  in the same colors. I added a thin strip of a Chevron Stripes Die-namics. It was an easy way to tie my design together.

Up next is another card with the SAME colors. I love how you can use the same colors and just by changing up the images and layout, you can create a totally different look and feel. This card uses one of my favorite Layered Rose Die-namics.   This 5 piece Die-namics makes beautiful flowers.

This time I used some Canvas to cut out my Layered Roses, I created three different sized blooms by layering the different sizes. I then colored up some white gesso with refill ink (Razzle berry, Berrylicious, and Orange fizz). I painted up each layer, set it aside to dry and then used some Distressed Background to stamp over top of the petals with the same color of Premium Dye ink.

The Razzle Berry flowers have Razzle berry chicken wire stamped on them and the Orange Fizz flowers have distressed dots (it's a little hard to see in the photo). On the Berrylicious flowers, I used the  poppy poem from Pretty Poppies to add some text print to my flowers. I used black Stazon Ink so it wouldn't bleed, and the words stayed crisp.

I then topped each of the flowers with a different colored MFT Button in the same color scheme. I also needed more of the pretty Factory Green color to balance out my design, so I tucked in a few Royal Leaves to match my Layered Roses.

I used the oval cut out from Blueprints 2 Die-namics, cut from Kraft cs. Behind that I added a touch of Chicken Wire Die-namics in Sno Cone cs

I think the Happy Hellos makes a stunning sentiment on any card, so I added it here in Black Licorice cs.

For the inside, I added the poppy text background, stamped in Berrylicous ink. Since I used roses on the front, I pulled out my Sweet Roses stamp set and added a few more flowers and another sentiment, using the same colors I used on the out side.  I love being able to make pretty  insides to my cards. I think it's always a great surprise to the person receiving it.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to hop on over to the MFT Blog to see who is playing along this month. I KNOW there is some gorgeous flowers to see.
