I cute the kite's base from some Whip Cream card stock and then used different, pretty patterns to cut the accent pieces of the kits.
I used the gorgeous new Blue Raspberry ink to stamp that script "happy" from the Birthday Greetings stamp set (don't forget you can get that one for FREE this month when you place a qualifying order....check out the Triple Scoop Promo!).
I used some Night Shift Blue for my card base and added a few pink brads. I gave all the bits and pieces a swipe with some Kraft ink for some distressing AND to help them pop against the background.
Changing gears, I have a cool project life layout to share today, too.
I had yet to use the awesome new Cassette Tape Die-namics and the coordinating stamp set JOURNAL IT-PLAYLIST. I wanted to show you that you DON'T always need a music theme to use it. I think it makes such a fun, accent and with the word " Mix of the Month" you can use it to highlight some pictures from any month. I used some random pictures of the boys daily life during the summer.
Here is a close up of the CASSETTE TAPE. I cut it from kraft card stock and then cut the label piece from the new SMOOTH WHITE card stock. I stamped the label with Blue Raspberry ink. I also added the month, year, and season with the Document it-Days and Dates. I added the custom tape to a Insert It Die-namics. I added some distressing around the edges with the new Gumdrop Green ink.
I needed an journaling block, so I used the Insert it-3x4 Notebook Paper. I added another stamp from the PLAYLIST STAMP SET and inked it up with Gumdrop Green ink.
I loved the word, "epic" from the PLAYLIST STAMP SET. I added it to the round tab from Accent it-Labels and Tabs. The star is the inside star that is cut from the larger star frame from the ROCK & ROLL DIE-NAMICS. I cut them from Orange Fizz cs.
Moving along my layout. I have a picture of my little guy being silly. I stamped the word "silly" with the Typewriter stamp Set onto a Label and Tabs Die-namics. I seriously LOVE this set of Die-namics. All the edges of this layout were distressed with some of the yummy Kraft Ink.
Here are a few more Die-namics I added to this pocket. I used the giant rockstar from ROCK & ROLL and then topped it with a BLUEPRINTS 1 button (tied with Hemp Twine) and an arrow from Lead the Way. I added a little journaling to the arrow, telling you that the picture is of the fort my boys built.
The final insert has another sentiment from PLAYLIST. It was stamped in Blue Raspberry Ink onto the stitched strip from Blueprints 1 Die-namics. The star is another one from ROCK & ROLL.
