MFT March Creative Challenge {color}

With so many great colors in the MFT Boutique....cardstock, inks, ribbon, buttons, felt, we thought it would be fun to show off some of our favorite MFT color combos.  I had a lot of fun with this challenge. I hope you enjoy it. Along with these favorite color combos, I also pulled out lots of my FAVE Die-namics and stamp sets.

First off.....you'll notice a common theme from me. I have a love affair with KRAFT!!! Love it, can't live with out it, and won't stop using it! It is such an amazing neutral and it really looks great with just about ANY color! I was over to the moon excited when Kim added MFT KRAFT Premium Dye ink to the line up! ahhhh! ♥♥♥

I used kraft in all my combos today. First up, let's look at this favorite combo of mine:
Kraft, Grape Jelly, Sno Cone, and Nightshift Blue.

I think that Grape jelly Ink looks fanatstic stamped on Kraft card stock. I used Darling Dots background to add fun polka dots. Polka dots and butterflies make me smile.

I adore the giant butterfly dies from Inspired by  Butterflies-Die-namics. I used one and cut out a Kraft butterfly. I then decided to give it a *faux* cardboard look by running it through my Crimper. I used Sno Cone re-fill ink and a paint brush to give it some splatter and then added a few brush strokes of Picket Fences Crackle Paint. Once the crackle paint was dry, I went in and sponged on some Kraft ink. Lately, this MFT Kraft ink has become my favorite distressing ink to sponge on all the edges of my cardstocks. I finished off the butterfly with a few coordinating buttons-Grape jelly and Nightshift Blue.

I added a touch of the Nightshift Blue with a teeny Pinking Edges at the top of my Sno Cone card stock strip. A bit more texture was added with a piece of Grape Jelly Grosgrain ribbon

The sentiment comes from the Inspired by Spring stamp set. It added the perfect touch of pretty to my shabby chic butterfly card.

Next up is a classic combo of colors. You can't ever go wrong with a red, black and white combo.
The MFT colors I ended up using:
Electric Red, Black Licorice, Kraft, and Whip Cream.

I LOVE how the Black Licorice Premium Dye ink stamps on Kraft card stock. It's heavenly! and when it's done in Houndstooth....SWOON!!! I used the Spring Backgrounds to stamp the hounds tooth to set up the backdrop for my flowers.  I also added a row of tone on tone polka dots-Kraft on kraft with Darling Dots

I used Rectangle Stax 1 & 2 for my focal panel and then topped that with some pretty Whip Cream Daisies! The Leaf-filled Flourish is always fun to cut apart and tuck in here and there. I did that to accent my flowers.

The sentiment was stamped in Electric Red Premium Dye ink. It's from Pretty Poppies. I just love the fonts Lisa Johnson used when designing that stamp set. Awesome!

Again, I used Kraft Premium Dye ink to sponge on the edges. All the edges were also distressed with my Distressing Tool. You can also use the edges of your scissors to achieve a similar look.

On my last card, I wanted to show you a favorite INK combo of mine. The first two cards really showed off the pretty MFT Cardstock colors with some coordinating Replenishments. Since I have been raving about my LOVE of the MFT Kraft card stock, I really wanted to show you how cool the MFT inks look stamped on them. So here is a Clean & Simple card I did to show off

My favorite Kraft + MFT ink combo:
Kraft, Black Licorice, Blue Raspberry, Lemon Drop, and Gumdrop Green.

I used the Sno Drifts Edges to make a couple of rolling hills with GumDrop Green cardstock. I also added some polka dots, because I just adore the Darling Dots background stamps

I then used the stem from Homespun Hearts, stamped in Kraft Premium Dye ink. I added a pretty flower from the Embellished Eggs stamp set and added a hounds tooth floral center stamped in Black Licorice.  I added a pop of yellow by stamping one of the darling little chickies in Lemon Drop ink. I added the fun, scripty "hello" from Pretty Poppies in Black Licorice ink.

I adore buttons. Can't hardly make a card without using at least one of them.  Buttons might be my favorite Replenishement MFT carries. I used a Gumdrop Green button and added a little zig zag stitch, stamped in Gumdrop ink. I love this little element.

I can't wait to see what my fellow DT members have come up with for color combos. Come with me to the MFT blog to see who is playing along this month.
