July Creative Challenge.....On a Roll!

It's no secret. I love the MFT rolled flower die-namics.  There is nothing better than cranking out a quick, easy flower embellishment that takes a matter of minutes.  The rolled

MFT is working harder than ever to inspire you, and we have come up with something we think you'll really enjoy. Our Design Team Creative Challenge is a  monthly feature, where the design team  is challenged to explore our creative side using a specific theme, product or technique. This month, we're On a Roll! We are having fun and playing with all the rolled flower die-namics available.
I started with a color scheme and then pulled a bunch of MFT felt and cork and got busy cutting and rolling all the different sizes of flowers. I used the Large Rolled Rose, the  Rolled Rose, and the Mini Rolled Rose, and the Rolled Flower.

For you visual people out there....Sarah Gough posted these comparison pics of the Rolled Rose Die-namics.  If you missed it during release week, last week, she has graciously allowed the MFT DT to post them on our blogs to show you all 4 different size roses.  It's pretty impressive to see them lined up like this. Thanks Sarah!

Then I decided to create something for a friend's birthday that is coming up.  I love making 3-D wall hangings.  They really make a great personalized gift.  I used the Clearly Sentimental About Friendship set to create this one of a kind gifty!

I used some linen fabric (yes, I still have a bunch in my stash from the pillow I made months ago....sure is coming in handy! and I adore the kraft color of it!) and scor-tape (the 1/2 inch size MFT carries this, did you know???) to line one of my layers of cardstock.

I created the mini frame in the middle with all 3 dies from the Well Worn die-namic set.  Use the two larger frames, cutting the smaller one first, then lining up the larger one over top of the negative and you get the pretty, thin frame to showcase the oval.

Some rhinestones and a few leafy flourishes help finish off the whole thing. A strip of brown  ribbon and more scor-tape, makes the perfect hanger for the finished art piece.  The project measures 6x6!

This card had nothing to do with the wall hanging gift above, but I orginally wanted to add the  cork Large Rolled Rose and decided it didn't "fit" the style I ended up creating above.  I hated to see that sweet flower go to waste, so I added it to a card.  Some twine and fun summery colors, helps complete a totally different look with the same rolled rose die-namic. The sentiment (from the Great Outdoor Sentiments) is stamped on the new File Tab die-namic and the panel is finished with bit of Fresh cut grass in Gum Drop Green cs. Card base is Bananna split cs. Whimsical and sweet!
