How about a Joy Ride?

I've used this paper a lot, lately...it is a great pack, especially for all the boy stuff I make around here. But then, so is everything by Cosmo Cricket. It's the 6x6 deck called Joy Ride.

This was a quick card I whipped up for my BIL last week. I pulled out my 3 favorite patterns from the pack and paired it up with a fun Birthday sentiment from Unity's, It's Your Day stamp set. The metal brads give it a bit more of a masculine feel, dontcha think? Get the stamps and paper both at Limelight Papercrafts.

This week on SALE:

25% off (through 4/3):
*Embossing Powders
*Glitter
*Distress Stickles
*Kaisercraft Droplets

New Stuff arriving soon! Check it out!

see you back tomorrow for a Limelight sketch and product challenge with the DT! Hugs, Lisa

All Whimsical and Oh-So-Cute!

Finally I have a day where I can share this card. I made it last week, just minutes after opening my new PTI order from the March Release. It must have been a great release, because my box took a little longer to get to me than usual. Let's just say It was WORTH the wait!!! The new Hawaiian Shore color is fabulous (now if I can just get my hands on some buttons in that color-they were sold out by 6:30AM-sooner I'm sure. I just didn't wait up for the release, lol!), I love the new dies, impression plates (although I am still partial to embossing folders), and then there is this adorable new Wonderfully Whimical stamp set. Ahhhhh! It screams cuteness! I almost passed on it (new items add up fast in my shopping cart), but at $15 I knew I had to have it. There are a TON of images in the set, and although they are a lot smaller than I expected, they are great to work with. I can't wait to play with it more. Hope this card brings you smiles today. See you back here tomorrow. Hugs, Lisa

I was going to wait to share this till after the release, but decided to give you another lookie at that cute squirrel. Isn't he too cute? More TSG Sneak Peeks-Day 3!!!

sooo, do I dare ask which new set is your favorite so far? Just so you know, I love them all. New stamps just make me giddy!
Today is the day we share our creations for another HUGE set, Poppies. Wasn't it a field of poppies that Dorothy and company had to walk through to get the the Emerald City??? I loved that, a whole big field of gorgeous red flowers. I used red, but also couldn't resist using kraft on at least one of my cards for this release.

I hope you just came from Kim's Blog. Wasn't it fabulous???? If you didn't, make sure you start at the beginning of the hop, leave a comment at each blog along the way, and then go back to the Mr. Linky Widget on the TSG blog to enter your info for a chance to win this new set!!!

Now that the business is out of the way, Here's my Poppies card.

I stamped the image in Vintage Cream ink and highlighted the stems with a little copic olive marker. I added some soft yellow for one of the butterfly images included in the set and matched it to the sentiment. I know you'll be seeing some amazing coloring with this set along the hop. I can't wait to see it myself!!!

Be sure to hop on to Mercy's Blog and review all the rules of the challenge at the TSG Blog, so you have a chance at the prize. Thanks for stopping by today! Hugs, Lisa

Day 2-There She Goes Sneak Peeks!!!

The fun is just beginning! Today we are peaking 2 sets from the new There She Goes release.

Two totally different sets, but both pack a big punch! First off, again, the bizness!

Hopefully, you just came from my wonderfully talented DT member, Jodi. If not, be sure to head back to the start of the Blog Hop on the TSG BLOG.

You are challenged to leave comments at all the blog hop participants, and then go back to the Mr. Linky Widget and enter your info for a chance at both of these new mini stamp sets!!!! It works, I've won before, and that leaves room for more money to spend in the store on release night! LOL!

So now, on to my cards. The first shows a little of the fun sentiment set, Chem. 101. I used some arrow dies and fun Joy Ride paper and this card just came to be! I look at this and it makes me smile.

Totally switching gears....wait till you see this flower!!!! Ahhhhh, so soft and pretty, dontcha think???
Okay, enough chit chat. I know you've got a lot of hopping to do for a chance at the prize. See full contest details at the TSG Blog. And off you go to visit, Mercy! Hugs, Lisa

If not, then you need to go to the TSG Blog for all the details of the hop. It's worth it, I promise you!!!

If you stop at all the DTs' blogs, leave a comment, and then go back to the Mr. Linky widget on the TSG blog-you have a chance to WIN this stamp set!!!!

I just loved this little bench and couldn't wait to make a little park scene with it. Those little cut- out hearts are too, cute! Great details, I tell ya!The tuft of grass, ground and rock are all separate stamps that work together to add fun stamped accents to the larger main images of the set. I knew the gorgeous Early Bird dp by Cosmo Cricket was a perfect fit for this sweet Hello card.

Here are the rules on the blog hop! Follow them for a chance as the prize!!! Continue on the right path, and hop on over to the next Uber Talented DT member, Mercy!!! Oh, yes, Lord Have Mercy.....her creations are sure to please!

Have fun and good luck! Hugs, Lisa

Post no.3 for today! Pleating Tutorial!

This month is National Craft Month and if you've been following along with the Limelight Papercrafting blog, then you know that each week one of the DT members has been sharing fun little tutorials. This week it is my turn to share how I do my ribbon and paper pleating. I have really been loving this technique and have been finding myself using it a lot lately. It's a fun way to add a girly, frilly accent to any card. I love the different looks you can get from either ribbon or paper.
While I'm sure there are many ways to do this, I like to find the easiest and quickest way so I use good ol' snail adhesive (really my only use for this adhesive, these days!) and wide ribbons. You could also use a sewing machine, or even glue dots (BEWARE-you'll just end up using a lot of dots, though). I made this card for last week's sketch challenge and I used a thin white satin ribbon, for this tutorial I pulled out a wider version of that ribbon. TIP: You will use way more ribbon than you think to do this, I almost use at least twice at much ribbon as I think I will need. Often times, I'll leave the ribbon attached to the spool until I know I have the right length of pleats for my project. Then I cut.
I run a strip of adhesive along to top of my ribbon, both on the front and on the back. It works best if you do this on a non-stick surface (otherwise you run the risk of your ribbon sticking to the paper). Then it is just a matter of pinching and folding. Here's what my first pinch looks like.
Then I fold the ribbon back on itself. You continue to do this all the way across your ribbon.
A few more folds and you can see it coming together.
To finish it off, I almost always tuck my pleats behind a layer of cs or main image panel, having them stick off the bottom or side. This helps give a clean, polished look to your project AND hides the adhesive strip along the top. I usually run a strip of Scor-tape to attach it to the cs.
Okay, and if you are still with me, this is how I do my paper pleats. It is more of an exact science, because you can score and measure the paper. To get nice even pleats (I do admit, I rarely measure, but for your sake, today I did!) I score every 1 inch and then 1/4 inch, then you fold in a mountain/valley fashion. I always start with a 12 inch strip and a run of tape across the front and back of the top of the strip.
The first, Mountain fold at 1 inch. Then the Valley fold at 1 1/4 inch.
Again, like the ribbon, just continue on down the strip of paper.

Here you can see that I tucked the pleats behind the dotted, flower dp and tied a satin ribbon bow around the seam.

AND, now the finished card I used my paper pleats on. Doesn't it just add an adorable element to the card? Stamp: Stampendous Daisy Bee

Ribbon: 3/8 pink Satin ribbon

Paper: Oct. Afternoon-weathervane

Stickles

Hope you enjoyed my little tutorial! and if you haven't tried ribbon or paper pleating, give it a try. You'll enjoy the results, I promise! Be sure to check out the Limelight Sales this week! Lot's of goodies at GREAT prices!

Hugs, Lisa

Post no.2-TSG Simplicity Challenge

  • if you are looking for my H{ippity} Hop post, please scroll down!

I'm double posting today, since tomorrow is the start of the There She Goes sneak peeks of the new release. Get ready for a fun and fabulous week! And, well, I just love this card I made for the Monday, TSG Challenge-Simplicity!

Here's the challenge: This week we are challenging you to simplify your stamping by creating a one layer card. You are allowed to have images that are popped up with dimensional on your card but no other layers/panels! Limit your embellishments to only one kind (but you can use multiple of that embellishment). So get out those stamps and enjoy some simplicity in your stamping this week.

Here's my card.

I used the Blossoms nestie to create an embossed frame for my hot air balloons. I also sponged on some bashful blue ink to make a sky. I paper pieced my ballons on some fun Jillibean Soup dp and popped them up over the stamped clouds. I finished the card off with a little sentiment from the same set, Aim for the Clouds, and tied off a button with some twine. Paper piercing in a great way to add interest to a one layer card!Be sure to stop by the TSG blog to see all the details and how to enter for your chance at a prize.

And stop by these DT member blogs for some more TSG inspiration!

I'll be back with one more post for the day-yep, it's a busy week! Hugs, Lisa

Monday H{ippity} Hop!!!

Yeah, it's Monday and let me just say I had a wonderful weekend. Got some girl time in, some scrapping done, and now it's time for our H{ippity} Hop!!! WoooHOOO!

Michelle is up this week with our IHHC16 Challenge-use chipboard!

I do ♥ CHIPBOARD! While lately I've only been using it bare naked (you know my love affair with kraft!) today I decided to go back to why I first fell in love with chipboard-you can customize it!!!! Here I covered a giant flower with some lovely Jenni Bowlin polka dot dp. Paired it up with some Oct. Afternoon houndstooth and the wonderful sentiment from Music of My Heart.
Order yours HERE or just shoot me an email!
This card was one I submitted to Papercrafts magazine, it didn't get picked up, SO I get to share it here today :) There's always an upside, right? I also added a pop of purple with the ribbon and flower center. So off you go, to see what other {ippity} creations are out there! It's sure to be a great day!

Big Announcements!!!!

Announcement Countdown

Join the Friday Night Chat in the TSG Forum and Hear the BIG Announcements!

Friends with Flair and Moxie Fab!

I whipped out two super cute and super quick Unity cards using the fabulous Feb. KOTM! Seriously, this is one of my FAVE kits of all time-great images, and quotes and just fun to work with. I played along with this week's CAS challenge-mint chocolate chip ice cream and came up with this Father's Day card. I'm laughing at myself, because I now have 2 of the 3 Father's Day cards I need but NO Mother's Day cards done yet (and, yes, Mother's Day comes before Father's Day!). It's the stamps, I've been inspired by the stamps...how could you not!
Then on Tuesday, Cath, posted this fabulous Moxie Fab, Tuesday Trigger and I came up with this card. Loved the tones of brown, texture, and the pop of color from that pillow!

Inked up one of the cute little bird houses with some markers, and then set it off with a red scalloped edge and a button!

I'm off for a fabulous scrapbooking over night with some girl friends and couldn't be more excited!!! I'm so giddy about the girl time and spending almost 24 hrs. straight, with no interruptions, getting caught up on my scrapping! EEEE! Hope you do something you really love this weekend! Hugs, Lisa

It's Limelight Sketch Challenge day!

Here's my card for this week's Limelight Sketch and Product focus. Actually, I'll share the sketch first and the challenge details. It's pretty straight forward and lends itself to ANY stamp.
This week you have to use ribbon on your card! Ha, as if that is a challenge???? I don't think I ever make a card without ribbon (or twine). In fact, I used 3 different types of ribbon on my card today.

Here's what you need to know to play along:
**Use the sketch above and a focus on sentiments
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC043
**Post a comment with a link to your card to Mandy's blog and the challenge post by Sunday, March 21, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.)
**PRIZE: a pack of Jillibean Soup ribbon of your choice

What do you think??? Worth playing for??? Here's my card.

Okay, and now you see I fudged the sketch a little. I just couldn't make this sentiment fit along the side, there. So I moved it! Here's what I used on this card:

Origins dp

Origins Pops

Unity's Could I be any Cuter

black crochet ribbon

brown burlap string

white satin ribbon

How's that for a list of Limelight goodies??? Go Shopping but leave the DT some love before you do!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful Thursday! Hugs, Lisa

TSG Challenge 46-it's a sketch

This week our There She Goes Challenge comes from Danielle! I am so excited to be working with Danielle. I actually had the privillege to hang out with her for 4 days almost 2 years ago at a SU convention. We had a great time and THIS girl has talent! Anyway, she provided us with this awesome sketch. Use this sketch and Come play along this week.
Use keyword: TSG46 to any online gallery you upload to and then link up your card to Mr. Linky on the TSG blog.
Here's my card! I used the gorgeous set, Aim for the clouds (it had the circle image already there for you!). I just love the hot air balloons in this set. I pieced this one with some Garden Variety dp by Cosmo Cricket. Hey, check ou my clouds??? There was some talk about felt in the forum and so I pulled out what I had. I stamped the clouds with black ink and cut them out. I think it's just the perfect touch!
Want some more TSG inspiration for this sketch?? Check out these DT members and see what they did with it!
- Pam
Make sure you keep checking in with the TSG blog and hey, join the forum while you're at it! Big Announcements are coming on Friday!!! You don't wan to miss the fun!
See you tomorrow! Hugs, Lisa

Monday H{ippity} HOp!

Good morning and Happy Monday to you all! Glad you are here for all the {ippity} goodness!!! It was my week to pick our challenge theme and with St. Patty's day just around the corner (in 2 days to be exact!), and because I just adore this color, I decided to host a GREEN challenge, the color green that is!!! Use GREEN and a neutral in your {ippity} creations and be sure to upload with keyword: IHHC15 for a chance at a fabulous PRIZE.

A prize you ask, what is it???? This week we are giving away: A pack of 10 random {ippity} stamps. How's that for some motivation!!!! Good luck and have fun!

Here's my lovely GREEN creation!!!
I'd been dying to use this sweet heart strings image, so I did!
If you would like to purchase Moon Beams and Heart Strings, shop HERE!

I stamped the heart strings image twice, once on white cs and again on Spring Moss. I then pieced those sweet little hearts to the bottom of the white cs. A little tedious, yes, but I love the look of them hanging off. Designer paper is from Cosmo Cricket, Garden Variety. I left off a sentiment, cuz I couldn't decide what to use. Sometimes is good to have a generic card that you can add a sentiment that feels right, when you are ready to give the card away! I need to do this more often. Okay, off you go to see the rest of the wonderful {ippity} inspiration. Stop by the blog for the full list!

How fun that this also fits into last week's Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab! Great Minds think alike!!!!

Hugs, Lisa

Day Light Savings Time

Tonight is the night, if your time zone takes part in the Spring Forward of the clocks, then at 2am tonight (which is really tomorrow since it is after midnight) the time becomes 3 am! I hate that we loose an hour of sleep, but I love that this means Spring is even closer!!!

I had some stamping time today and my dear friend, Kristin and I did our own virtual stamp challenges (we do this once in awhile when we find a day when our families are occupied with their own activities). Kristin's challenge was a D.S.T. (day light savings) challenge-use products or embellishments that begin with those letters.
I used:

D-designer paper

S-stitching

T-twine and time (the clock)
I thought the clock image was a great reminder for you all! Stamps are by Unity and the paper is more of the My Mind's Eye along with melon berry cs and ribbon. I'll keep it short, got run my oldest to a friend's house. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! Hugs, Lisa

FWF and CAS

Thanks to my vacation with the FAM, my Unity stamps sat untouched for weeks. I squeezed in this quick card for the Clean and Simple challenge on SCS. Didja all know, my fellow {ippity} DT member, Kelly, was picked for the CAS DT??? YEP, she did and I couldn't be happier for her. Congrats, girlie! The challenge this week was to use two different shapes on your card. I went with circles and a star and came up with this Father's Day card. I thought the avocado twill and zigzag stitch added just the right touch to this manly card. Lovin' those birdies!!!
Okay, so off you go to see the rest of the Friends With Flair line up. check out Angela's blog for the list! Happy Friday! Enjoy the weekend, be safe and have some fun! Hugs, Lisa

p.s. check out this giveaway! I ♥ Bella Blvd dp!

Spring Yellow Flowers

I pulled out this fun flower, polka dot set by There She Goes to play along with this week's Trendsetter Challenge. Sandra is up this week as our spotlight girl and on Monday she challenged us to a Yellow Spring card with flowers. If you upload to an online gallery, use keyword TSG45. Come play along for a chance at a $5 gift certificate!I made a cute polka dotted background and kept my focus on a single polka dotted flower-both created with Polka Dot Blooms. I added a simple sentiment, from another mini set, Everyday Greetings (love these mini sets-affordable and they work together so well!).
Check out the TSG Blog, for all the details and keep thinking SPRING!!! We've had a fabulous week here in the Midwest! Hugs, Lisa

Pleating and a Party Dress

I couldn't pass up the MFT VIP kit last month (you get a new, to-be released stamp set 2 weeks before it's released and a whole bunch of other goodies, for 1 great price!). When I saw the cute little party dress on Who's That Girl, AND then the adorable number candles, I was SOLD! Who's That Birthday girl is a great birthday set, and you can never have too many of those! I inked her up, and pieced her with more of the MME, Quite Contrary dp (are you sick of it yet???? I'm not! LOL!) and used the sketch from the Wed. Stamp Club challenge to put this card together. Then Joanne's Blogoversary challenge this week was to fold or pleat paper or ribbon, I thought it would look great with the cute little party dress on WTG. FYI, I've got a tutorial coming up on pleating, so stay tuned for that in weeks to come! Of course I couldn't help but finish the card off with some of this gorgeous satin ribbon (it was also part of the VIP kit!). What's a girl to do without ribbon??? In all fairness, I did leave off a button, but to be honest, I feel like my bow is so naked-eeek! I'll be okay, less is more sometimes, isn't it.
Have a wonderful Wednesday! Hugs, Lisa

Espressing My Thanks

I love me a good cup of coffee. I love the smell of coffee, the taste of coffee, coffee shops, and cute little coffee mugs. I'm not an all day drinker, just a 2 cup a morning kind of girl. I look forward to my hot cup every morning while I surf the web-it's my morning routine. I just received my first Keurig machine for Christmas (it's a mini, and it's perfect for me since I'm the only coffee drinker in my house) and I just adore it!

I was super excited to get my new Let's Get Together set inky by There She Goes! I love that it comes with both a mug and a to-go cup images-it's all about customizing for your own needs! I paired it up with more Quite Contrary dp by MME (you'll be seeing lots of this paper, hope you don't get sick of it, but I LOVE it!)

I had fun adding the little extra details, like the corrugated, cup holder (is that what you call those things??? I'm sure there's an official name for it). Oh, yeah, this sketch is from Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge (MTSC63) from last week. She's one of my fellow DT members and I couldn't be happier working with her.

Be sure to stop by the TSG blog and check out this week's challenge (I'm hoping to post a card later this week). Every Monday a new challenge is posted (this weeks it's to make a Spring card with flowers and the color yellow!) and if you play along, link up to Mr. Linky, you could win a $5 gift certificate to use in the store!!! How cool is that????

Enjoy the day! Lots going on here as always, never a dull day. Hugs, Lisa

Good Sunshiney Monday Morning

I can't get enough of this taste of Spring-like weather we are having. I am totally drinking in the sunshine!!! I'm glad you're all here for another fabulous Monday of {ippity} inspiration. I just love these H{ippity} Hops!!! This week our challenge is to Dry Emboss! Use your {ippity} stamps (need some ippity??? I'd be happy to send you some) and keyword IHHC14 when you upload to SCS for a chance at a prize. Here's my card for the challenge this week. I used the new My Mind's Eye paper,Quite Contrary-mmmmmm, love this pack. My dry embossing was achieved by my favorite and quickest way, the swiss dots embossing folder. I did up a whole panel in rose red with it. The stamp set is What Matter's Most! I'm still sending FREE 6x6 paper packs of this dp, with every $50 order! SHOP HERE!Here's a close up of the butterflies and sentiment. Yes, I cut out a bunch of those butterflies and attached them with dimensionals. It was worth the effort. I finished off the inside since my card base was chocolate cs. I'm getting much better at doing this, it really makes a statement AND doesn't take any extra time at all.
ETA: almost forgot to say, this sketch is from Jen DelMuro, A Sketch For You To Try. I've been a long time lurker and finally put one of her's to work!

Make sure you visit the {ippity} blog for the full list of participants (the list keeps getting longer and longer each week-I ♥ THAT! ) Enjoy your day! Hugs, Lisa
