Color Throwdown 390-Great Year

Hello, Color Throwdown fans!  Wanda is our hostess this week and my Michigan loving heart sure adored her color choices this week! Yay, Go Blue!

These classwedding cakes inspired my color palette for this week: Goldeyellow, navy, and whiteIt's a simple combo that will hopefully get your creative juices flowing! Remember... we’re using generic colors and you can add whatever other neutrals you choose.  It’s all about having fun!

The end of the school year is quickly approaching and I want to make sure I am ready for all the teachers. I used this week's colors to make this thank-you card. I loved combing the apples and stars for a teacher themed card.

I started this one with some clear embossing of the So Many Stars border. I stamped it three times with Versamark and then clear embossed it.

Once that cooled, I smooshed on some  Mustard Seed distress ink and gave my back ground a quick color wash. I let that dry and stamped my All Apples pieces and then cut them out with the All Apples Confetti Cut. I then cut some You Are Amazing Confetti Cut stars with Blueberry card stock. I then tucked in a strip of diagonal striped paper and added some pretty yellow sequins.

Curtain Call REMINDER-Simplicity

Have you played along with the current Curtain Call Challenge? No worries. There is still time to get in on the fun. Check out the details on the Blog.

I used some Reverse Confetti products because I had the perfect Confetti Cuts inspired by the inspiration photo. The Posted Note Confetti Cut and coordinating Posted Note stamp set were perfect for this challenge.

I kept it super simple by using one of the School Days Quick Card Panel. I then layered on Posted Note Confetti Cut that I stamped the sentiment on. I then added an easy embellishment from Flower Wrap Confetti Cut. I added a strip of silver glitter paper and tied on some burlap twine.

Hop on over to the Curtain Call Blog for more info
and more beautiful sample from some team members.

Lil' Inker Designs April Release-Day 3

**please scroll up for my Color Throwdown Post. There's more LID there**

Hello friends! It's our third and final day of the LID April Release. I have so much more to share. I am glad you are back. So glad you are here. I hope you arrived here from Stephanie Gold's Blog.

If not be sure to start over at the LID Blog. Laura has all the new product info, as well as some awesome  eye candy you won't want to miss!

Don't forget to leave comments on all the Design Team Member's posts. Laura is giving away 3 $15 LID Gift Certificates. One winner will be picked each day from the comments. Good luck and have fun!

I did some water coloring with this amazing new Vintage Flowers stamp set combined with the Vintage Label Sentiments to make this purple beauty Mother's Day card. I had so much fun creating this and it was super easy thanks to my Zig Clean Color markers.

I used a piece of the Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper. I stamped all the flowers and then picked two tones of purple, one lighter and one darker and two olive tones of the markers and water colored with my aqua brush. I added the color around the images and carried it into the white spaces to give a color wash to the background too. After my panel dried, I used the largest Silly Stitch rectangle to added some detail to the edges. I stamped the Vintage Label Sentiments, customized my sentiment and then cut it out with the coordinating Vintage Label die. I popped it up with some foam dimensions.

I didn't want to put those Vintage Flowers away yet, so I made another card combining more of the new LID products. I first cut a smooth white A2 card stock panel with the largest Fringed Scalloped Rectangles. TIP: to fluff up those scallops, I like to slide the side of my bone folder under the row of scallops and lift up gently. I can then fluff up all those scallops on each side all at one time.

I then layered on the smaller panel of the awesome new Tribal Chic papers cut with the  Silly Stitched Rectangle die.

I colored up one of the Vintage Flowers and colored it with my Zig Clean Color Markers again, this time in peachy orange colors. I added some Wink of Stella and glued on some clear sea beads for extra dimension. I also colored up some stems and added those behind my flower. You can really see the details in this picture.

The sentiment was stamped from Vintage Label Sentiments in grey ink. You can see the cool dimension the Fringed Scalloped Rectangles adds to my card front. So pretty!

Here is a closer look at the new products I used today.

Thanks for coming by today and thanks so much for all your sweet, kind words. I loved reading your comments. More fun right here tomorrow. For now continue on with the hop, Heather Hoffman is up next. Have fun and enjoy the day!

Remember we’re using generic colors and you can add whatever other neutrals you choose.  It’s all about having fun, right?

I used some of the new, just released (scroll down for my  LID Release post....lots more goodies to see) Lil' Inker Designs stamps and dies. I just love that sweet bunny from the Kite Flying stamp set. I added her to a Tribal Chic Cover-up water colored background. You need this die. It's so, so cool! I made it a little bit smaller by cutting it out with the Silly Stitched rectangle. I finished the card with  some twine and scattered some pretty sequins in the challenge colors and this card was done.

Here is a closer look at the new products I used on my card today.
