Easing Back In {Tag You're It}

I was away on vacation last week with my family. We had a great week at the beach, it was hard to come home. I did a great job of stamping like crazy before I left so I would have a few things to show on my blog while I was away (and to prepare for a few things coming up), but I forgot about the week after I got home. Hence, why I missed the Sweet Sunday Sketch yesterday. boo!  BUT....... I needed to show something  new today and jump back into stamping. It's good to take a break, but I love getting crafty again.

The Reverse Confetti July release is almost here and I need to get busy with my samples. You're gonna LOOOOOVE what's coming! Today, I am easing back into my mojo with the new, cool Tag You're It challenge blog. It's a mini challenge this go round and it was perfect for kick starting my mojo.

I pulled out the Tag Me die from RC and used it to make my main image panel. I love tags. I love this die, so this challenge is right up my alley.  I was inspired by the gradient of colors on the tag and the beach theme. I cut the tag twice to get a double layer of tag goodness.

I used the super sweet and my first ever RC stamp set, Happy Harbor. I stamped the sentiment twice, first on the tag and then again on a die cut heart from Love Note. I carefully lined up the heart to match the sentiment on the tag.

I added a sweet row of anchors in the same color ink (Brand New colors from Fresh Ink. LOVE! this is Teal). I carried out the beach theme further by adding lots of pretty mini 4mm Sand sequins. How great are those??!!! Sure make me happy!

here's the inspiration photo for the Tag You're It challenge:

There is also a new Catered Crop Recipe Swap up-Summer Lovin'! This card fits the bill for me. Pretty beachy colors, those sand colored sequins and a nautical theme. Totally summer lovin'! Make a card and join the fun. All the details are HERE on Linda's blog.

Here are the Reverse Confetti Products I used.

Thanks for stopping by today. I've got exciting news coming up.......Check back!

Watercolored Hello

I love having some watercolor panels ready to go in my stash. I've been saving this purple one for a few weeks now. I added some purple splatter and cut the finished piece with a Stitched Mat-rectangles die from Lil' Inker Designs.

I further jazzed it up with a fun brushstrokes word die-Hello

I cut two of the "hellos" , one from  silver glimmer paper and another from Steel Gray cs. I offset the two, just a little to create a shadow effect. Doesn't it look great??!! This came together quickly and I love that.

Thanks for stopping by.

TCPTues269-Hello Summer

Hello friends. Thanks for joining me today for the next TCP Tuesday Challenge. It's an inspiration challenge, check it out and see where it leads you.

Here is my card. I love using a classic red, blue, and cream color combo. I did some sifting through my crafty goodies and found some canvas and the yummy Dotty Biscotti designer papers.

I used two new products that were JUST released, Vintage Summer and the Butterflies Cutups. Isn't the sentiment stamped directly on the canvas so pretty?!!

I stitched on some buttons with with red twine. I also added texture by running the navy, large butterfly through my crimper. I love giving card stock corrugated look.  This new buttefly die is awesome. You can never have to many butterflies.

I hope that you play along in our TCP Tuesday Challenge. We’d love to see what do.

Sweet Sunday Sketch no.224 {more Birthday Wishes}

Another week has flown by. I hope by now all of you are enjoying the start of summer. We are in full summer mode and I'm loving it.  It also means it's time for another sketch from Karen and the Sweet Sunday Sketch team.

I needed another birthday card this week, so I while I had out my Label Me stamp set from Reverse Confetti, I used the sweet birthday sentiment and a few of the RC Confetti Cut dies to make this pretty flowery card for my SIL.

Papers are from My Minds Eye-Market Place. Sooo pretty! I used the Double Scallop border die from Reverse Confetti along the top. The little banner pieces are from the Tag Me die set (it's my fave), and that flower. It's custom made. I die cut two petals from  Petals 'n Posies Confetti Cuts and then added some giant polka dots from Lots of Dots

Here's the sketch:

Come Play along: simply make a card with this layout and use the InLinkz button down at the very end of Karen's post to enter your card. The links will close on Friday at 10 PM (Mountain Time). Be sure to link directly to the blog post or gallery image which features your card. You may post a picture of the sketch on your blog, but please save the image to your computer first. Use the keyword SSSC224 if you plan to post your card in an online gallery.

 Don't forget to see what the Sweet Sunday Sketch team has done this week.
Have a wonderful Sunday

Curtain Call Challenge Reminder {still time to play with the Sweet Pea Challenge}

There is still time to join us for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge: Sweet Pea!

 You have until June 25th at 8:00 AM CDT to be inspired and share your project!

Current challenge details and link-up are here
Our sponsor for this challenge is Sugar Pea Designs!
The LEAD of this challenge will receive a gift certificate to the Sugar Pea Designs Store!

Here is another card I made using the awesome SPD stamps. This one is called My Hero!
 It's a pretty CAS card. I didn't even color in the adorable Super Hero boy. I stamped him onto Smoke Gray cs with black ink and then only colored him his lightening bolt with a Prisma Colored pencil.

Dies are from Lil' Inker Designs, Instant Camera Die and Stitched Stars. The gray stripes are from let's polka paper pad.

A few of the Curtain Call Crew gals have even more fabulous takes on the Sweet Pea challenge for you! Stop by the Curtain Call Blog for all the details.

I am also linking this up to the current SPD challenge: Anything goes!
Love that and love these stamps.

Stamping with Friends {diagonals}

Stamping is more fun with friends. Since most, if not all, of my stampy friends live far away from me getting together to stamp rarely happens. BUT thanks to the amazing thing called the internet and social media, I am always connected to them. I love that!

 Every once in a great while I get to do a Friendly Challenge with my friends Jackie and Becky. We like to keep it simple and it's just for fun. Becky challenged us to include some kind of diagonal element to a card. I used a bold color combo-Bermuda Bay, Soft Navy, and Lemon Drop card stocks.

I am playing along with the new Challenge blog, called The Cutting Edge. ummmmm, it's a challenge blog dedicated to DIE CUTS!!! I think I use dies on almost all of my cards. I was inspired by Amy's card, the bottom left one.  I'd love to be a guest designer, so I'm throwing my hat into the ring. So fun!

I used the Reverse Confetti set, Winning and the Oh, My Stars Confetti cuts on my card today. I just love that star border. One of my star panels was created with a Star Stencil from Simon Says Stamp. I sponged on some distress ink in different shades of yellow.

I needed a little WOW! factor, so I accented the sentiment with more star dies from Oh, My Stars in silver glitter paper.  Wondering where that sweet little outline star image came from? I used the cut and re-cut method. I first used the negative star from the border die (cut from silver glitter paper) and then lined up the small star die on top of it. I then ran it through my Vagabond again to cut it out. love it! A few enamel dots completed the look.

Be sure to stop by Becky's Blog and then Jackie's Blog to see how they used the diagonal on their cards.
