Color Throwdown 578: birthday wishes

Hello there! It's Lynn here and she's our hostess for Color Throwdown Challenge #578!  With with Valentines Day just around the corner, I thought the colors, reddark graylight gray and white would help inspire us to create something special for someone we love. We are using generic colors, so as long as you use the color values shown, you are all set! As always, please feel free to incorporate any neutrals that you need in your design as well!

If you upload to a public gallery, please use the keyword CTD578, and please use #ctd578 and #colorthrowdown on social media sites. Also, when linking up your card using the linky tool at the bottom of the post, please link to your specific post, not a generic link to your blog. All of the "rules" are in the right sidebar, please check them out if you are in doubt! One last detail to remember, no digital designs - only digital images that are printed off and colored will be allowed. Totally digital designs will be removed from the link up.

Today is my FIL's birthday! I used today's colors to create a festive birthday card! I just adore these little Cheerful Pals, I used the elephant today with his sweet little pennant. I colored him up with Copics and then popped him up with some foam dots.

Sentiment is from Birthday Wishes, stamped in Stormy.  I also used two different pattern papers, grey strip from Free Spirit and red & white polka dot from the newest Sweet as Sugar. I also used the Stitched Squares cut from Premium Polar White  card stock. I tied it all up with some thin silver twine and stamped a trio of red stars in the background.

Check out the beautiful creations from the team this week! They are sure to inspire you, they always inspire me!! Have fun creating, we cannot wait to see what you come up with using these colors!

Inspired By Challenge/ Picket Fence Studios

I am a few days late in posting to this week's Inspired By Challenge. In all honesty, I had the card completed in time, I just didn't have a chance until today to edit my photo and get this post up.

I pulled the blues and greens from the challenge photo and the beautiful flowers and got busy coloring this gorgeous Beautiful Girl, Eiko Girl, from Picket Fence Studios. She was one of the newest stamps just released in the January bundle. I also used the coordinating Eiko Girl die to cut her out. I paired her with my favorite new Stencil,Flowers in a Heart, too.

I love how easy the Life Changing Blending Brushes make to switch up colors for the background. I stamped a sentiment from Barberton Daisy in Intense Black ink.

Be sure to stop by the challenge to see all the design team creations, and to link up! It's always fun to stamp with us.

Color Throwdown 577/ On My Mind

Hi, everyone!  Lori is up as hostess for this week’s Color Throwdown challenge.  The colors from this week's inspiration photo are navy blue, pink, and green.  The colors are generic and it's fine if you want to add in other neutrals along with the challenge colors.

Once you’ve finished your card or other paper crafting project using the colors, add a direct link to your creation using the linky tool at the bottom of the post.  And, don’t forget to use the keyword CTD577 if you upload your project to an online gallery. You can use the keywords #ctd577 and #colorthrowdown if you upload to any social media sites (yes, we're on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter!).  All of the challenge "rules" are in the right sidebar in case you have any questions.  One last detail to remember, no digital designs.  Only digital images that are printed off and colored will be allowed.  Totally digital designs will be removed from the link up.

I started with some gold vellum polka dotted paper for my background, it is from Stampin' Up! and I've had it in my stash for awhile now. I then inked up the gorgeous Butterfly Wreath stamp set from Reverse Confetti and colored it up with some copic markers. I made sure to stamp a few of the extra butterflies to help accent the wreath and sentiment. I used the coordinating Butterfly Wreath Confetti Cuts to cut out all the pieces.

I framed it up with a Scalloped Squares Confetti in Navy card stock. I added the sentiment from Butterfly Wreath at the bottom in Navy ink.

Before you head off to create, here’s some inspiration from our talented team to get you started.  The CTD team is looking forward to seeing what you create with these colors!

Picket Fence Studios January Release

It's an exciting day! Today is the January Release from Picket Fence Studios. We pushed it back a few days to coordinate with the 2020 Creativation Craft Show. This release is also a HUGE and full of so much amazingness! You can see the FULL Release HERE!
Let me show you a few cards I created. First up is this cool set called, Walk, Run or Crawl I love that these shoes can be used a baby shoes, or sneakers for any ages. I colored mine up with Copics in grey tones to look like a pair of Converse I own and love.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I embossed it in white on a black card stock strip. I backed the image panel with some b&w striped paper.

This next card makes me happy. I am always on the hunt for a great guy stamp set and PFS has delivered. It's called Paul James Guy stamp.

I colored him up with Copic markers, I even gave him a little bit of scruff. I then used the coordinating die, Paul James Guy die to cut him out. Check out that background. It's a new cover plate called Glass Window Rainbow and I cut it from Premium Polar White card stock and then used the Life Changing Blender Brushes to blend on some grey, and green inks. I love the great texture and graphic feel of this die.

I did a little more embossing with this sentiment from another new stamp set called, Seriously, Literally. It's pretty amazing, too.

Be sure to stop by the rest of the design team blogs or catch us on Instagram for lots more inspiration with the new JUST RELEASED products. Thanks for stopping by today. Hugs!

Inspired By-quiet

It's time for another Inspired By challenge. I loved the shabby shutters and the letters at the top. I was inspired to create a Valentine's Day card in the green color combo. I used all Reverse Confetti products today. I started with a trio of RC inks: Seafoam, Pistachio, and Sand and cut out the Hearts Cover Plate and used it as a stencil to add heart pattern to the main image panel. I love using my cover panels as stencils.

I then inked up the XOXO stamp from All the Love and I used the same ink colors. I cut it out with the coordinating Confetti Cuts. I stamped a simple sentiment from So Very Lovely in sand card stock.

I added a bit more of interest by adding a strip of Sweet Stripes along the left side.
Check out this week's challenge. I'd love to see how you are inspired by this image.

Color Throwdown 576-Friendship Warms the Heart

Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! It's Lisa Henke here and I am the hostess this week.

It's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge, and this week, I am your host! I adore a great scarf during the winter months! This week's colors are so rich and warm, Navy, Teal, and Mustard I hope you love this combo as much as I do!

As always, please feel free to add any neutral to your creation! If you upload to a public gallery, please use the keyword CTD576, and please use #ctd576 and #colorthrowdown on social media. Also, when linking up your card using the linky tool at the bottom of this post, please be sure to use a link to your specific post, not just a generic link to your blog. Please remember, only paper created designs are allowed!

I had fun with this one and knew when I chose the inspiration photo for this week's colors that I wanted to use this cool set from Concord & 9th. I used it a few times last year and pulled it out again this year. It's so fun to work with and build your own wintry girl. I colored her up with Copic markers in the challenge colors.

I used the Masking Stencils from Taylored Expressions (So fun and so easy to work with) and an old heart stencil from Reverse Confetti to bring in the teal color. I love Emerald Isle ink from The Stamp Market. The Life Changing Blender Brush makes the job so easy. I stamped the sentiment in Navy ink and lined the cardbase with Navy card stock.

Check out the beautiful creations from the team this week! They are sure to inspire you, they always inspire me!! Have fun creating, we can't wait to see what you come up with.

Inspired By-hot chocolate/Lil' Inker Designs

I know, I know, it has been awhile since I joined the team for the Inspired by Challenge, but I am back at it this new year. I pulled out some of my supplies from my stash. This is my favorite die and a fabulous way to gift a gift card, it's an older die from Lil' Inker Designs and I believe it may be sold out. There is a HUGE sale happening on everything in their store. check it out. Lots of good stuff there. You could use any other coffee themed die, there are lots out there on the market. Hey,  you may even have one in your stash. I was inspired by the mitten and their cuff. So I added a band around the cup with Sand card stock stamped with a Buffalo plaid stamp.

I added some stitched mitten dies for a touch of winter and added a sentiment with white emobssing powder onto a black strip. I tied it all up with some hemp twine.

Sending you warm cozy thoughts. Go check out the challenge this week.
Hugs, Lisa

Reverse Confetti/ January Release Day

It's here, it's here....the Janurary Release from Reverse Confetti is LIVE! I'm so excited to see you all get these awesome products into your hands.

No photo description available.

This card started with the "no lion" sentiment from the Flowers for a Friend stamp set. I love it and had to use it right away. The flower stand is so over the top adorable. I stamped that out and colored it with copics, picking colors that will coordinate with the Sweet as Sugar 6x6 paper pad. I did a little paper piecing on the awning.

I cut both colored images with the coordinating Flowers for a Friend Confetti Cuts. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of the plaid paper strip and then added the tiny heart border from Hearts Confetti Cuts

I framed up the flowery friendship scene with the Fa La La Circle Confetti Cuts with Premium polar white card stock. I mounted the whole thing onto a panel of Mist card stock cut with the Stitched Scallops Cover Panel.

Today is always my favorite release day, it's the Dawn Machel sets and I love them all.  I love owls, so this cutie from the Cheerful Pals was the first image I wanted to color up for today's post. His banner rocks! I used the coordinating Cheerful Pals Confetti Cuts to quickly cut him out. I framed him up with a silver Stitched Squares and mounted them over a panel cut with the Stitched Scallops Cover Panel

Before I adhered the pieces down, I added some color with a blending brush and Sunshine ink and a bit of ground with Sand ink. I tucked in a trio of die cut hearts from the Oh My Heart Cover Panel.

My next card I am so happy with how it turned out. I started with an ink smooshes rainbow background, using a variety of Distress inks. Once the panel was dry, I stamped the greeting from Crafty Critters in Midnight ink along the bottom.

I then stamped and colored two of the critters from the Crafty Critters stamp set. I have a feeling this set is going to be super popular, so don't wait to order it. I added a few of the crafty elements and cut them all out with the coordinating Crafty Critters Confetti Cuts. Here's a closer look at the sweet details.

Here is who is hopping along today and sharing products. You can also check out Instagram for another look at the products posted.

Here is a closer look at the new products I used today.
