Color Throwdown 381-Friendship and Butterflies

Hello to all of you throwdown fans!  I don't know about you, but I'm ready to think spring!  This fun watering can photo was the perfect photo op to throw down the springtime colors of pink, light green and kraft!

We're using generic colors, so as long as you use the color values shown - Pink, Light Green, Kraft - you'll be good...the color police won't come after you. We want this to be all about having fun!  Feel free to incorporate any other neutrals you need in your design, as well. If you upload to a public gallery, please use the key words CTD381, and please use #ctd381 and #colorthrowdown on social media sites. Also, when linking up your card using the linky tool at the bottom of the post, please link to your specific post, not a generic link to your blog--all of the "rules" are in the right sidebar, so check 'em out to be sure.

Soft and pretty was the feeling I was going for with this card. I used the new Concord & 9th dies, Floral & Flutter, that I picked up from Butterfly Reflections. Soooo, so pretty and so many different ways to use them. I kept it simple and cut two of them, one from pink and one from craft. I stamped some of the new leafy images from the Wildflower Stamp set in the background.

It was so hard to photograph the sentiment. If I were to make this card over, I would probably opt to stamp the words in the Pistachio Pudding ink and the leaf images in the white embossing. But anyway, I do love an embossed sentiment and this one from By Your Side is so pretty. I finished off the card with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins in the challenge colors.

For more inspiration, check out the other design team members' creations below, and get inky! We can't wait to see what you create with these new colors.

Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great one!

Be Gracious

I am totally in love with these flowers. The new Garden Bunch stamp set and matching Garden Bunch Confetti Cuts are so pretty and easy to work with. Once you get started with them, you just want to make more. I used two of the larger flowers with one of the smaller. I tucked in some of my favorite Leafy dies

The new Basket Confetti Cut was the perfect way to show off these beautiful blooms. The gorgeous curve in the background is another of my favorite new releases, Edgers. The embossed detail makes this extra special.

I stamped the sentiment with some ombre ink. Isn't that just a beautiful phrase? It's the latest and greatest faith based stamp set called, The Lord's Strength. I tied up the card with some pretty Solid Blossom twine and scattered some sequins. If you haven't checked out the February release from Reverse Confetti, make sure you do. There is so much to love.

Color Throwdow 380-birthday gnome

Hello and happy Wednesday! It's time for another great color challenge with The Color Throwdown.

Vickie is our hostess this week and the inspiration photo is so warm and cozy.  I love that rich deep red. Add in some gray and white and you'll be all set to join us this week. I can't wait to see what you create.

I pulled out one of my favorite Taylored Expressions stamps sets, Under the Toadstool. I just adore that gnome. I also colored up some mushrooms and stamped a magical starry background with grout gray ink on a smooth white background. I anchored the image with some designer paper and a solid stone twine bow.

I stamped the sentiment with some Paver Red ink onto a gray Speech Bubble die from Lil' Inker Designs. I love that stitched border along the edge. I popped that panel up with some foam dimensionals.

Remember, you do not have to have the exact colors to play the Color Throwdown challenge. If you don't, just use the closest you have. So, c'mon over to the Color Throwdown blog and play along with us this week. Please use the link service to post your card and please link directly to your card so we can find it easily. And please include a link in your post to the Color Throwdown. If you upload your card to a public forum, please use the keyword CTD380 so we can see your beauty all in one place, and use  #ctd380 and#colorthrowdown on social media. Hope to see you there! Be sure to check out what the other team members have come up with this week, including our incredibly talented February Guest DesignerKay Miller!

Reverse Confetti Feb. SFYTT-Birthday Critters

It's my turn to post with the current SFYTT by Reverse Confetti. Have you played along yet? What are you waiting for? It's such a fun sketch with so many options for making it your own. I used it along with some of my favorite Dawn Machell critters. Gosh, how I love those characters.  I needed another birthday card and this one was for my middle guy.

I cut one of the newest Quick Card Panels-Hoppin' Dots with the Documented confetti cut and then added 4 light gray circles from Fresh 'n Fruity. I then got busy coloring up the bunny from Hippity Hoppity, the lion from Leaping Lions, and the monkey from Monkey Buisness. I used all the coordinating Confetti Cuts to cut out the critters and party goods!

Behind the main image panel I cut one of the skinny tags from In The Bag Confetti cut and snipped it in half so the top and bottom would peek out from the Documented die cut piece. I tied on a Natural Solid twine bow.

Here is this month's Sketch!

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge-All Boy

Welcome to the new Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

The LEAD of this challenge will be invited to be a guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Here is my card for this new challenge. What is more boy, than an iPod?? My boys love theirs and while they like music, they really love it for games! Either way, the MP3 Die-namics and Keep on Rockin' stamp set by MFT were perfect for this All Boy challenge. I am always in need of boy birthday cards, too!

I started with a clear embossed Happy Birthday background also from MFT. I used the gorgeous Blueprints Sketch distress ink to add a cool water colored background over the clear embossing. I cut out the whole panel with one of my new favorite Silly Stitched Die. I just love that subtle detail it adds.

Make sure you visit each of the designers' blogs for more inspiration!

Taylored Expressions-Zoo Birthday

It's birthday season in my house. I made this sweet monkey zoo card for my little guy who turned 9 last week. We share the same birthday, so our day was super sweet! Check out the details of this card over on the Taylored Expressions Blog, HERE! It was featured as part of the Blog Team contributions to the blog. Hope you like it!
