RC Spring Fling Blog Hop

April has just been FULL of surprises with Reverse Confetti. We have a special surprise, Spring Themed Blog Hop happening today. Of course, it wouldn't be a blog hop without a prize involved. Hop along with the Confetti Crew members that have created projects today, leave comments along the way for a chance to win a $15 RC Gift Certificate! Easy Peasy!
You should have arrived from Amy's Blog. If not, then please head on over to the RC Blog for all the details and the beginning of the fun.

I decided to take the Spring theme to the class room, today. Since we are wrapping up our last month of school for my boys, it's the perfect time to create a sweet little appreciation gift for the teachers. We are blessed to have some amazing teachers in our schools. The elementary school especially has been fabulous and thankfully all three of my boys love school and I really give a lot of credit to their teachers for that. This year has been extra special for us and our second grader. All three of my boys have had the privilege of having the same teacher. We love her and it makes me a little sad to know that this will be our last go with her. I decided to make her a little heart-felt gift.

I'm all about ease when it comes to these kinds of gifts. Use what you have and make something handmade. I pulled out one of the awesome gift box dies that Reverse Confetti carries. I used the cool Treat Tote Confetti Cut for my box. Simply cut two and adhere them together. Before I adhered mine together, I added a little stamping detail with the Class Act stamp set, So Many Stars,  and Whole Lotta dots

I then used the coordinating Class Act Confetti cuts to create a notebook panel to look like a chalkboard. I cut the small rounded rectangle from dark grey card stock and embossed the notebook stamp with white embossing powder. I then used a sponge dauber to added some "chalk" with white ink. I topped the panel with the apple die and tab die from Class Act Confetti Cuts. One silver glittery star from Oh, My Stars was added at the last minute. I love it.

Once I had my box complete, I needed something to go inside of the box. The larger rounded rectangle die from Documented fits perfectly inside the Treat Tote Box! I decided on a set of hand stamped note cards. Again, keeping the design simple and basically the same on each card made for a quick assembly. I changed up the stamps and colors to give some variation while giving the cards a "set" feel. I then packaged them up and added them to a cello bag tied up with some twine. I used the Class Act,Winning, and Fancy Word Coordinates  stamp sets to create my cards.

The finishing touch to the gifty is a fun pom pom pennant. I made one of these paper straw pennants during release week, but this time I decided to add a sweet Tassel to the top. It was so fun to make. I love how easy the Tassel Die is to work with. I cut 5 pieces of tissue paper, folded them over some twine and fluffed it up. I then tied it around the top of the straw.

I used the just released Layered Banner Duo Confetti Cut to make my pennant. I then stamped some Limelight polka dots with Whole Lotta Dots and then added a #1 from Winning

Here is another look at all the parts of the gifty.

Thanks for hanging with me today. I hope you are inspired by my project and feel motivated to make a handmade gifty, soon. I'll send you on your way, Susan's blog is up next. Don't forget to leave comments along the way for a chance to win.

Have a great Tuesday!

TCPTues 289 {thinking of you}

It's TCPTuesday Challenge time! There is a wonderful Inspiration photo for you to play along with. I created a CAS card playing off the colors and the text birds in the photo.

The Birds CutUps is such a cool die. I think those birds are stunning on any project. I cut them from some text designer paper (Stampin' Up!, I think).

I used one of my Ombre' ink pads for the sentiment. I love the Simply Said stamp set. It's a must have sentiment set, that's for sure. Two strips of colored card stock layered in the background and this card was done.

Here is the challenge graphic.

Be sure to head over to the TCP Blog to see all the rules and details and to find the link up. We would love for you to join us.

Did you know Reverse Confetti has a month long sketch challenge? It's always a great layout to work with and tons of fun. There is also a prize involved. All you have to do is play along and link up your card. There is still a little time to play. Come check it out.
Here is my card. I pulled out the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set and matching Confetti Cut dies.

I water colored a panel of Tim Holtz Distress paper with some distress inks. I then cut it out with my favorite Documented rounded rectangle. I stamped the sentiment from Fabulous Flamingo onto the panel. Sequins and enamel dots accent the words and pretty flamingo.  I tucked in the bold Pina Colada Quick Cut Panel

Here is the sketch. I hope you'll join us if you haven't done so yet. Check out the details on the Reverse Confetti Blog

Sweet Sunday Sketch 266- LID Happiest

Welcome back. It's Sunday and it's time for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch for you all to try. I used more new Lil' Inker Designs products that were just released this past week. Love these flowers. The stamp set is called Awesome Blossoms and boy is it awesome!

I used the Dual Stitched Rectangles to frame my card and then cut out the circle with the Stitched Mats-Circles. I decided to stamp my sentiment form the Awesome Blossom stamp set in Blueberry ink. A trio of flowers were cut with the Awesome Blossom dies. I love that there are coordinating dies to allow for easy cutting of the flowers and leaves.

Here is the sketch for this week. Come by the Sweet Sunday Sketch blog for all the details, the samples from the design team and to find the Link Up for the challenge.

Thanks for stopping by. I always love when you do. Have a beautiful day.

Retro Sketch no.161 {you know too much}

I loved the recent Retro Sketch no. 161. I was all set to use the Speech Bubbles from LID and then I saw the gorgeous stitched scalloped border from the Border Builder Set and I changed gears a bit. That's ok, though.....it still follows the sketch.

I also LOOOOVE all the new products from the Lil' Inker Designs April release! Did you order yet? I'd love to hear what you got. I just love the Just Sayin' stamp set. I used it today and accented it with my new favorite Perky Posies. The flowers and details are amazing!

I also used the original Stitched Mats-Rectangles to frame my main image panel with the gorgeous stitched detail.

Here is the Retro Sketch I used.

I am also linking up to this week's Simon Says Stamp ChallengeIt's a Clean & Simple theme this week. I think my card fits.

It's a busy soccer weekend for us. I won't get any stampy time until Monday. what are your weekend plans? Whatever you do, make it a great weekend. Happy Friday!

Lil' Inker Desings April Release

It's our final day showing off all the Brand New goodies just released from LID! What are your favorites? I love to see what you all order.  It's time for the APRIL Release from Lil' Inker Designs. There is a whole lot of awesomeness happening here.  Laura has all the release info, plus a look at all the great products you'll want to get your hands on today. You can order the FULL release NOW.  We've had three days jam packed with great projects. The fun starts over on the LID Blog.

First up from me today are two cards showing the cool Vintage Ink stamp set and coordinating Vintage Ink dies. I used a similar layout for each card and show you how easy it is to make a feminine and masculine card simply by swapping out images and changing up colors. Plus I got a head start on my Mother's Day and Father's Day cards.

I used the Dual Stitched Rectangle dies to make my frame to showcase the Vintage Ink stamps.

I used Copic markers to color up the flowers and leaves and then cut them out with the Vintage Ink dies

I stamped the banner image and "mother's" sentiment with die ink and then heat embossed it with some clear embossing powder. I loved doing this on vellum, so I didn't have to cover up the heart that was stamped in the background.

For my dad card, I embossed the anchor image with white embossing powder and then added some shading detail with copic markers. I stamped the leaves with Limelight ink.

I did the banner the same way on this card but switched up the colors to Tropical Teal and Chocolate. The stitched border was creating by cutting out the kraft panel with the Dual Stitched Rectangle.

My final card for this release was so fun to make. I had fun with my distress inks and a favorite technique that anyone can do.

I embossed the awesome new We Connect circles with clear embossing powder onto watercolor card stock. I then used my Distress markers to add a touch of color along the edge of each circle and pulled out the color with an Aqua Painter. I used a rainbow of colors and then added some black splatter. The sentiment is from Just Sayin'. It's a must have sentiment set.....just sayin'! lol. This sentiment just makes me giggle and I know just who I am giving this card too.

Here is a close up of the watercoloring. You can also see I used Dual Stitched Rectangles again to make a sweet frame for my card. Yep, Love these dies. I can't stop using them.

Off you go, Laura Williams is up next. I'll meet you over there. I know she'll have some beautiful eye cand for us.

Thanks for hanging with me the past three days. I hope you loved my LID projects. I had a blast sharing with you for this release. Happy Shopping!
