Just For You!

A quick Sunday post. I created this card earlier in the week for the Moxie Fab Citrus Color challenge. These are the yummy colors we were asked to use and this is the gorgeous inspiration piece to draw from.
Sooooo, this is what I came up with. I used my PTI bitty dots paper along with my FAVE unity May KOTM image. I think it's so Moxie Fab!
That's all I got today, BUT stay tuned for tomorrow it's a two post Monday with lots of fun and EXCITING stuff to share! It's Limelight's First Birthday Celebration and I've got a little something else.....you'll just have to stop back by to see! Hugs, Lisa

One Post, Some HHH Fun!

Just to be different, I added a different blinkie today! There are lots of fun ones to choose from, Angela has the link on her blog. Anyway, I have a week off from Stamp Something while Denise and Erin are busy making their final picks for the new DT members. I'm staying, though, and couldn't be happier (my stint wasn't up yet)! I spent yesterday and a bit of Wednesday stamping some Unity goodness. I completed the Addicts challenge (create a collage-style card) and the two Hip Hop challenges. Here they are.

I don't consider myself a collage stamper, but I have to say I think this turned out cute. Thanks to that fun Jillibean Soup dp it made the challenge a little bit easier for me. Up next is another card with Jillibean paper, it was for the Unity is Knot Your Ordinary Stamps-you had to use a knot on your card. You can find mine on the button with linen thread.

And one more. We had to use our newst Unity stamp. This is my newest un-inked image I have from Unity. I won it a few weeks back at hip hop and it came in handy for a card I needed to make for a freind that just had twins.I stamped and masked the image to stamp it again. Added the x's2 with some PTI alphabets. layout is from Fresh Batch Blog, the Stamps and Smiles sketch challenge#17. Here's the link to the thread with the rest of the Hip Hop Hangover participants! Have a fabulous Friday!

Limelight Sketch and Product Focus!

You're going to like this one! I did! It's all about paper!
You do it. I do it. We ALL do it. And we all know it.That's right... We ALL hoard our patterned paper! okay, so I admit I don't hoard it, I just buy too much of it! We are afraid of not having our papers once we use them! And we, therefore, all need that push to get us to share the patterned joy with others through our handmade cards! Today is another installment of the Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge, and we want you to USE that patterned paper! The lovely Lee Murphy has created another sketch for us, and what a perfect sketch it is for using your favorite papers!

Here's my card and I can't wait to try this on a scrapbook page. I just didn't have time to do both, but I will!

I just got these fun earthy papers (What a Hoot) by Kaiser Kraft and I knew they would look fabulous with these little cute guys, 3 wholigans by Unity! The letters are by Basic Grey, they are white chipboard and I colored them with Copics. I added a bit of stitching detail around the dp strips and some piercing along the photo corners. Easy Peasy! Give the sketch a go and be sure to link it up to Mandy's post. Here are the deets on the challenge:

***Use the sketch provided and think PATTERNED PAPER!

**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC022.

**Post a comment with a link to your card on Mandy's post by Sunday, May 31, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).

**PRIZE ~ One 6x6 or 8x8 Paper Pad!(Winner is chosen randomly from all participants.)

Don't forget about our ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION on Monday! Be here for games, prizes, and sales!!

Come follow me and see what the DT has created with this sketch! Amy, Lorie, Lee, JenMarie, Ryann, and our Guest designer, Amy!

Oh, and don't forget the awesome SALE at Limelight (it's listed on their home page) and all the fabulous new stuff they just got it! The new Cherry Hill and Ducks in a Row dp by October Afternoon and Shimmerz Spritz!

A Deadline!

You get two posts from me today, thanks to a deadline. The October Afternoon blog posted a sketch challenge with some OA papers of course! Nothing like sliding one in at the last minute. Here's the sketch I used (there were 3 to choose from). I used some papers from the Weathervane and Detours line (got 'em at Limelight, along with the sentiment. It's by Unity, and is from the Hey Chick kit). This was an easy, CAS sketch to work with. I accented the fun retro circles by punching a few out with different circle punches and popped them up on dimensionals.

Limelight is getting ready to celebrate it's 1st birthday. Make sure to check out the fun on Monday, June 1. For now, check out the SALE!

Weekly Specials 5/25/09 through 5/31/09:It's The Color Sale at Limelight Papercrafts!

-All Ink Pads 30% off!!

-All Robin's Nest Dew Drops 20% off!

Enjoy the day! Hugs, Lisa

CAS-Remake!

The SCS CAS challenge this week is to remake a card from your gallery. I had so much fun a few weeks ago re-making one of my first cards, I knew I could handle this one. I also knew right away which card I wanted to re-make. This card just never sat right with me.
I used all the same products-ribbon, paper, and embellishments and used the sketch from CAS challenge #13 to come up with this remake. I LOVE the new version.
It's an SUO card and I can't wait to show it off to my girls at my next class. I had fun with the different patterns from the Candy Lane dsp. You only have another week to take advantage of the Buy 3 get 1 Free on dsp and textured cardstock! Contact me to order! Happy Wednesday! Hugs, Lisa

More PTI-Rapsberry Suite Color Challenge!

I'll leave the chit chat to a minimum today. I made this card for Dawn's Raspberry Suite #7 Color Challenge. Check out all the details HERE!
I knew right away I wanted to ink up the yummy strawberries from my Green Thumb set. I have to revert to my "old" PTI sets since I haven't had enough money to buy any of the new ones. You know, why? Because I am addicted to their ribbons and colors and other accessories (ummm, can you say, buttons!). By the time I add up all the PTI accessories I want, I have nothing left to spend on stamps. I'm okay with that, though, I am just using what I have! So, here's my card. I added a bit of Damask designs to the strip of Spring Moss (I thought is looked kind of leafy, and went with the strawberry theme. Made it a bit more elegant, than cute-sie!). The layout is this week's Card Patterns sketch! It is a very cool layout that can be flipped and turned in any direction and still looks great! Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Lisa

PTI Celebrates Yellow!

It's time for the Papertrey Ink blog hop for the month of May. This month is flying by, but that's okay when you have events like this to look forward to. Never a dull moment in blog land, is it? This month Nichole asked us to embrace the color yellow-any shade or shades of it. I always say I am not a fan of this color, but I have to admit, that every time I use yellow I LOVE the end result. I do have to say that Summer Sunrise is one of my favorite PTI colors. It looks great with so many of their other colors. (avocado and raspberry fizz are two I love to pair it with). Today I combined Summer Sunrise with Lemon Tart and Melon Berry. I even threw in a splash of Ripe Avocado for fun (and it was appropriate for the leaf image).
I pulled out Little Lady and used some big shot dies to make this bright cheery thank-you card. I carried the dot theme throughout the card with some lemon tart polka dots on the card base, the punched holes on the left scalloped border, and the stamped dots of the trail of the ladybug. I love being able to curve a sentiment (like I did with the "with thanks") with ease using acrylic stamps. To give the bug a bit more dimension, I stamped her on the white cs, and then again on a scrap piece of white. I cut out the "wings", gave them a little fold, and attached them with dimensionals. I'm off to see the other wonderful creations in all shades of yellow. Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy hopping! Hugs, Lisa

A Little Birdie!

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you are all enjoying the long weekend. I know we are, especially today since Tim is finally off from work. We are spending the morning at Kings Island and then enjoying a relaxing cookout with the family. Here's a bright, fun little birdie card for you today.
Here's an all SUO card. Shocking, I know! hehehehe! The stamp set is called A little Birdie Told Me. The paper is all from the Pink Flamingo dsp pack. The layout is from Card Patterns. This is last week's challenge(#15), I just didn't get it uploaded in time for their contest. No worries, I got this weeks challenge already complete. I'll be posting that soon. Thanks for stopping by! I'll have another post later today, since it is the 25th and that means it's PTI blog hop day! I've got more cheeriness coming up! Hugs, Lisa

Enjoy Your Day!

Quick post for this holiday weekend. Tim is working and Joshua's soccer team is in a tournament. We are loving being outside! Temps are in the 80's and LOTS of sunshine!!! Here's another CAS challenge card I did this week. Image is one of my faves from the May KOTM by Unity. I embossed the flowers with white ep and then highlighted the inside of the petals with the VersaMARKER! Enjoy your Day! Hugs, Lisa

Stamp Something and Hip Hop Hangover!

I'm being lazy this morning. Okay, let's not say lazy, how about creative! I planned on making three cards yesterday and the time just got away from me so I had to combine two of my tasks at hand. This is my Stamp Something card and my post for the Unity HHH post. We'll call it a tow-fer!

First up is my Stamp Something card for this week's challenge, combined with the Oh, My Word Unity Challenge from yesterday's Hip Hop. This week at Stamp Something we are honoring our sweet DT member, Emily. Many of the sketches we have done this past year were created by her, so we thought it only fitting to do another sketch of her's. Try this one, or find a previous sketch from the Stamp Something blog to play along. Be sure to link it up to the Stamp Something blog. Here's how I used the sketch.

Papers are Jillibean soup (ummmmm, their Kraft line is to die for!) and images are from Unity's May KOTM!

Hip Hop Hangover

The next card was for the Unity in Stars challenge for Hip Hop yesterday. I made this card for my neighbor who is graduating from highschool. I used a fun and retro color combo (kiwi kiss and raspberry fizz) paired up with more Jillibean Soup kraft papers. The distressed star and sentiment are from Unity Stamp Co.( Jan. KOTM and Sentiments O' Simple). I finished it off with some kaiser rhinestones. So it's not your typical graduation card, but that's what I love about it. Check out the rest of the Unity inspiration by following the links in this thread. It's a hero theme this week. I could name quite a few people that I consider a hero but I'll leave it at one today, my husband. Seriously, he makes me proud. He is a wonderful husband, and loving father, and such a great provider for our family. He is also an ER physician. I like to say I've got my own George Clooney. LOL! The real ER is not as glamorous as the TV shows like to make it. My DH, Tim, works hard, long, and crazy hours. His schedule is totally random from month to month, heck, it's crazy from day to day! He does save lives everyday and I think that is pretty heroic. He is very modest about this and he would die if he knew I was blogging about it. He is my hero and I am very proud of him. And even though he rarely ever hears back from his patients (he treats them, stabilizes them, and then sends them on to another physician. He doesn't have follow up with any of them), I'm sure there are many people out there that think he is a hero, too. Have a wonderful Memorial Day! I'll be back this weekend, but just in case you aren't, I wanted to say that now. Hugs, Lisa

Viva Las Vegas Baby!

Okay, who are the AI fans? OMG! What a fabulous results show, and I won't give away the winner (just in case you had to DVR it) BUT I was SOOOOO happy with the winner although I was surprised. That's all I'm sayin'...
If you were in the gallery on SCS last weekend (and even up till Tuesday) then you saw all the uploads for VSN. The theme this month was Viva LasVegas. I didn't play along over the weekend, but I got caught up with some chit chat on Monday in the Unity forum and a couple of my friends got me interested in playing along. I had time to crank out two challenges Tuesday morning. This first one was for Lee Murphy (if you know Lee, then you know she LOVES ALL things blingy!) she challenged us to use a full glittered panel on our card. I have mixed feelings about glitter, it's a love hate relationship. I love the look of it, BUT I hate working with it. I usually use it in small controlled amounts, but for this I went with a favorite way to use glitter-Iridescent Ice embossing powder. You stamp your image on a piece of cardstock and then ink up the whole piece with Versamark ink, cover with Iridescent Ice ep and then hit it with a heat gun. Here's my card-images are from the Unity May KOTM and papers are SU, Raspberry Tart.

Here's a detail shot. You can see here I paper pieced the dragonfly and the added some kaiser rhinestones to the antenne.

This second was for for Ashley's Lucky 7 challenge. The embellishments you used had to be used in increments of 7!

I kept this simple and used the Flowers From Neverland stamp by Unity, colored them in, and then finished them off with 7 black Kaiser Pearls. Do some shopping at Limelight. Mandy just got in some new October Afternoon paperpacks! And here are this week's specials:
All Prima is 25% off!
All open stock 12x12 Basic Grey patterned paper is 50% off!

Hugs, and enjoy your day! Lisa

CAS-card and layout!

I know, yesterday I was supposed to post my CAS challenge card for you. You got my Raspberry Suite color challenge instead. Sorry! That's the fun thing about blogging and it being MY blog, I can change things up at the last minute. LOL! Oh, and Kristen, you nailed it, the eyelet border punch is new-to-me and I LOVE it! Today, I'll make up for it and share both my challenge card AND Jennifer Buck's CAS scrapbook layout. The SCS CAS challenge this week is here.-Black, White, and 1 Bold Bright. It was almost a YIKES for me, I am SOOOOO not a Bold Bright kinda girl. Can you believe I even picked Yo-Yo-Yellow to work with. I'm brave, I know. BUT look how this turned out...
...pretty, huh?! It is an SUO card I made for Joshua's teacher (it's teacher appreciation week here). I layered up the rose by stamping and coloring it (watercolor crayons and an aqua painter) 3 times, then cutting out smaller sections of the flower each time. I popped them up with dimensionals. Now onto the CAS layout. Here's the sketch Jennifer Buck posted on Saturday. As much as I love to look at all the pretty layers, stamping, and embellishments some of my favorite scarpbookers add to their pages, I've realized I'll never scrap like that. I just don't have the time. I am sooooo drawn to the CAS style when I actually sit down to create. I came up with this in about 5 minutes with the help of the trusty Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin' Kit from SU!

See you tomorrow with a couple cards I squeezed in for the Viva Las Vegas VSN challenges over at SCS last weekend. Happy Wednesday! Hugs, Lisa

Finally! A Raspberry Suite Color Challenge

For whatever reason, I have not been able to get Dawn McVey's color challenges completed. She comes up with the best combos of colors and it has only taken me six challenges to actually do one. I made sure to play this week. I used the PTI colors she suggested, but you could use whatever you have that is close. I used, Chocolate chip, berry sorbet, aqua mist, and white. I made it easy on myself and worked with a sketch posted on the Clean&Simple blog. Check out the Fall to Layout #42. I pulled out one of the first PTI sets I ever got, Beautiful Blooms and came up with this. I've gotten lots of new goodies this week so I am having fun playing. The first person to tell me what is new-to-me on this card will get it (the card, not the product). Thanks for looking.

Hugs, Lisa

Take a Break

No, I'm not taking a break, but I thought Flopsey deserved one. LOL! I made this card for my MFT Judges Idol entery last week (we had to use a Flopsey image on our creation). See all the fun for this week's challenge, HERE. The MFT idol contest is down to the final four and this week is a double elimination week!

I used the same sketch, I used for yesterday's card, from the DCBD blog. There should be a new challenge posted this Wednesday. I only have one Flopsey stamp, it's Cupcake Flopsey. So I did some masking and just used his cute little head sticking out a this great relaxing bathtub image (also from MFT, it's by Annie Lapoint). The paper is from MFT also, it's their Summer Pack. Ribbon and ghost flower are from PTI. Have a great Monday! Check back tomorrow for my CAS Challenge card. Hugs, Lisa

You get a TON of amazing image all for $24 (plus $5 shipping). Not a member yet, check out the details here on how to sign up.So here's a card I did the other day using my April KOTM and Feb. KOTM.
The sketch is from Amber, she posted it over at the Unity Place. I used kraft as my card base and the dp is Off Beat by Basic Grey. I also created this scrapbook page for my middle guy, Ryan. It is his preschool picture from this year. The papers are from Close to My Heart. I used the numbers and journaling/title block from the Unity March KOTM-Simple Life. The punched out saffron Floral stamped circle is from the April KOTM-Fresh Beginnings. Here are a few detailed shots. I couldn't resist adding some of my beloved, distressed dots over these numbers.
Okay, so if you stumbled upon my blog without following the hop, be sure to start HERE at Angela's blog. If you are following along, your next stop in the hop is here! Kim is such a joy and her blog is awesome (she was my secret Santa and boy did she spoil me)! That's all for now, off to be inspired, come join me :) Hugs, Lisa

Stamp Something CAS

Yes! CAS, right up my alley! We are doing CAS Thank-you's today and This week for Stamp Something we are also honoring our dear sweet, Lauren. I was giddy looking through her blog. I love Lauren's style and the fact that she uses SO much PTI. I chose to CASE this card of Lauren's. Here's what I did.I changed up the colors combo, the stamps, and the placement of the sentiment. I think you can see where and how I was inspired by her card. I've been trying hard to play around with some different color combos with my PTI stash. This one is Aqua Mist, Melon Berry (I used groovy guava) and Ripe Avocado. What do you think? All stamps are SU!-5th Ave Floral and Only Ovals. Be back soon with my part in the Unity Blog Hop. But be sure to stop by the Stamp Something Blog to see all the CAS Than-you cards made. Hugs, Lisa

Tulle and a Limelight Sketch

It is time for another Limelight sketch and product focus. This week pull out your Tulle and put it to use. I did and boy am I glad. I forget how fun this stuff is and what great texture it can add to your project, and not to mention how pretty it is. Here's the sketch. So, yes, it's another big circle to work with and I was thrilled. This time I decided to give my sewing machine a test run in circular form. I wanted to do a zig zag stitch and it didn't turn out quite right. My circle was more of an ellipse. LOL! Free form, straight stitching was going to work much better for me. I did score a circle on my cs before I began stitching, just so I had a template to follow. When in doubt, take it around two or three times to help "hide" any imperfections.

Here's what I used to make this card.

Stamps: Something Within by Unity. LOVE these quotes. I stamped in Versamark, ran a mellow moss marker over the word Friend, and then clear embossed it. This helped is stand out a bit more on the kraft cs.

Paper: Sugared dp by Basic Grey, kraft, pink pirouette and kraft cs (all SU)

Accessories: Tulle, BitterSweet Brads, Janome sew mini, clear embossing powder

So here are the rest of the deets about the sketch. Read them and come play along! You can win some Tulle!

**Use the sketch provided and think TULLE! You can CERTAINLY be flexible with your interpretation of tulle, and you may definitely skip it if you don't have any!! In fact, we hope you win if you do not have tulle....because we'll get to send you some! :)

**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC021.

**Post a comment with a link to your card Mandy's post by Sunday, May 17th, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m

PRIZE ~ Five yards of tulle of the winner's choice!(Winner is chosen randomly from all participants.)

ALL ORDERS of $35 or more will receive one jar of Shimmerz for FREE!! Now's the time to shop!

Check out my fellow DT members for their fabulous take on the sketch. JenMarie, Lee, Amy, Lorie, Mandy, Ryann and our guest designer this month, Amy!

Backyard Fun

I am so proud of myself for how good I've been keeping up with my scrapping. I guess it helps that I keep finding these great easy sketches to work with. Jennifer Buck took the week off from posting her CAS sketches and I had this one sitting on my desk waiting to be used. I found it on this blog, Bean Talk. You know all that yummy Jillibean Soup dp Becky sent me (btw, Becky it's almost gone. thanks again for sharing) whelp, they have a blog full of cute, inspiring creations. Check it out!
Here's my page. I only had 6x6 pieces of cs, so I cut two different patterns and pieced them together to create a 4x12 strip. I added some zig zag stitching to pull it all together. The title was stamped with the Fresh Alphabet set by PTI in Vintage Cream ink. I cut out a few of the butterflies from another pattern of the JBS paper. Busy, busy week as always this time of year. Hope your week is going well! Enjoy! Lisa

CAS and Some Rock-n-roll!

This week's CAS challenge on SCS is to use the rock-n-roll technique. I inked up the large damask stamp from PTI's Damask Designs with melon berry, rocked with raspberry fizz(love this combo). I think I have mentioned this before, but the PTI Melon Berry color is sooo close to SU's retired Groovy Guava so I was able to use up some textured cs and stitched ribbon (I pulled out the stitching, remember that trick?). Okay, back to the rock-n-roll. I also did the same with the sentiment. This is a birthday card for a dear stamping friend (won't say who, in case she's looking ;) Check out the challenge here. It is now also listed on the homepage of SCS along with the other challenges-yeah! In case you were interested, there is also a DT call for this challenge. Check out those details here. Thank you all for looking! Have a great day! Hugs, Lisa

Birthday Fishies

A quick post for you to get the week going. I made this card almost two weeks ago for a friend's birthday. I love the little fishies from the SU set, Just Beachy (you can order it now from the Occasions mini, contact me to place your order). I combined it with a PTI Pond Life sentiments set to make it into a cute birthday card. I used my slot punch to create the waves and the Good Morning Sunshine dsp was a perfect background for the "water". The layout is from this awesome blog, Clean & Simple. I used Fall to Layout #39. Have a great start to your week!

First Unity Kit Challenge

Here it is, the last of my Unity Birthday Challenge cards. Jimmi asked for us to create with our first Unity kit we ever purchased. I know I told you yesterday and if you have been following my blog you already know how much I {{{{heart}}}} Giggle Grove. It was what started it all! Here's what I did, a Pop-Up card. Closed... ...and Opened!Eeeee! I just think it turned out great! Yes, I love myself (in my best Jan Tink voice!). I included some other firsts with this card. The chocolate card base is stamped with my first Unity background-distressed dots, and the sentiment is from my first Unity KOTM-November. This set is also dear to me since I got my first publication in CARDS magazine using it. Okay, I'm outie! Enjoying a quick visit to MI with my BFF from college! Happy Mother's Day to all you fabulous MOMs out there! Hugs, Lisa

The Pressure is Off

Hip Hop Hangover

After last weeks whirlwind of challenges for a chance to win some AMAZING prizes, I feel free this week to create just for the fun of Hip Hop! I was able to crank out 4 cards yesterday. I had some fun with my old favorite, Giggle Grove as well as the April KOTM! Here are my Hip Hop Challenge cards.
This card was made completely from scraps! Not hard to do in my craft room. I have a big ol' basket full of all my paper scraps, big and small (it is about time to sort through it though, it's getting pretty full). The ribbon and linen thread are even little scraps I had laying around. The images are from my April KOTM. I colored the sweet little birdie with copics. The dp is by American Crafts.

The other HH challenge was to create a card for some challenge already posted, either in the SCS general challenge section or from last week's Unity Birthday challenges. I did this one (along with another one, I'll share tomorrow) for Jimmi's First Unity Stamp Challenge. Yep, you all know that Giggle Grove was my first Unity kit. I still LOVE it and decided to focus on the birdies for this one. So CAS, gotta love it! Be sure to see what the rest of the Unity Peeps created this week. Find the full list of HHH post here! TGIF!

Hugs, again, Lisa
