It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

It is! I can already start to feel the magic in the air. The excitement is starting to build as I hear my boys talking about Santa and how he actually gets into the house, and how they hope he won't scare Bosco, our puppy, and make him bark. I love living the excitement all over again through my kids each year. Heck, who am I kidding....I still get excited all on my own for Christmas!

Decorations are going up this weekend. We will "light" our Advent wreath  that the boys made in Sunday Schoool, and I will get a few more gifts knocked off my list (hopefully). Oh, and I need one more photo of the boys, a recent one,  to add to my photo card I am making this year. There, I'll say it.  I am NOT making 80+ holiday cards this year. It's the first time in almost 10 years. GULP!!! I want to do a photo card and show off a selection of photos from throughout the year.  AND I am and I'm going to be over joyed at all the time it will save me :)

Okay....so enough chit chat. Hello Friday and good-bye to November. I have had this card tucked away for a day like today. It uses the new JUMBO CHRISTMAS STOCKING DIE-NAMICS from MFT. It's such a great die to have in your stash. I love making 3-D items with it and using it on a card, like today.

I cut it from Kraft card stock and then embossed some white polka dots (from Darling Dots Stamp set).  I then touched the edges with some yummy Jellybean Green MFT ink. The sentiment is from the SEASONAL SENTIMENTS stamp set and I stamped that in Wild Cherry MFT ink. Ahhhh, MFT INK...have you seen it yet? I LOVE it, you will too!

The topper was cut from MFT Whip Cream Felt and then I added the holly leaves (ALL part of the JUMBO CHRISTMAS STOCKING DIE-NAMICS) from corrugated cardboard. I then gave it a good dusting of my beloved Rock Candy Glitter. A gorgeous Paver Red button and twine finish it off.

I added a little rustic woodgrain designer paper in the background along with a few SMALL SCALLOPS along the border of the red paper.
Simple and sweet!

Have a beautiful day.

During this 2-day hop, you will be inspired and in awe of all the fabulous creations shared by members of these two talented design teams. Both teams will be sharing Simple Christmas Card Ideas using Unity Stamps designed by Susan K Weckesser Inc. It's not too late for Christmas Cards. According to the US Postal service, if you mail your holiday cards by December 20, they will arrive by December 25th! And, this will give you a chance to also join in the Christmas Love Campaign.

So I got busy with this amazingly cute snowman image. You can find him here in the Unity Store.
He's called:
One of a Kind Winter
you can find all the Susan Weckesser stamps by Unity HERE!

I wanted to show you how easy a few tags can be to create. They make the perfect accent to any package or gift bag. Heck you could even use these an ornaments to decorate your tree.

I stamped them both onto xpress blending cardstock and used my copics to add some shading to the edges of the snow. The green one, I colored his hat and mittens with markers and stamped the sentiment right over top.

The red one I paper pieced with some holiday papers (Handmade Holiday by Simple Stories). Both images were then cut out with some circle Die-namics and layered onto a Decorative Circle Stax Die-namics and finished off with some twine and buttons.

I had made three tags total and decided to show you how cute this would be mounted on a card. Easy Peasy! I added some more holiday paper, stitched around the edges and then added the sentiment to a Fishtail Flags Stax Die-namics.

We are giving away two chances to win an amazing prize package containing the entire {newest released} Susan K Weckesser stamps co-branded with Unity Stamps.

For a chance to win, visit each blog and leave a comment. Then come back on Dec 3 at 6 PM CST to find out if you are a winner at Susan K Weckesser Inc and Unity Stamp Co blogs.

MFTWSC100- {flurry of love}

Seriously? Sketch 100 from MFT??? ....gosh it sure feels like sketch no.1 was only a short while ago. Time flies when you are having fun and I am soooo excited to say that I have done every single sketch. :)
I was happy to pull out this beloved Pure Innocence, Flurry of Love,  stamp and ink her up for the first time. I have had her forever, she was happy to come out and play.

I used the pretty papers by Simple Stories, Handmade Holiday. I love how wonderful they look with Jellybean Green and Paver Red from MFT, but today I wanted to play up the blue from the papers, so I used Ocean Tide.

I added the smallest ROUNDED BANNER STAX DIE-NAMICS piece like the sketch called for. In place of the two small round elements, I stacked a heart from HOMESPUN BIRDHOUSE (cut from MFT Kraft Felt) and the smalled snowflake from LET IT SNOW DIE-NAMICS.  A button to match and some of my favorite twine.

I pieced up the sweet PI girl with lots of fun patterns from the same Simple Stories pack. I touched up the dots of snow and the snow drift with some Icicle Stickles glitter.

I also stamped up the inside to coordinate, as well. A row of polka dots from DARLING DOTS and another sentiment from SEASONAL SENTIMENTS, both new from the November release

Here's this week's sketch.

Come play along.  You’ll want to be sure to play along for your chance at the weekly prize, valued at up to $20 in vouchers to the MFT Boutique. You can submit your entry using the keyword MFTWSC100 to the Gallery at Splitcoaststampers. Entries for this week’s challenge will close on Tuesday, December 4th,  at noon EST.
