MFT October New Product Tour

HOLY Hot STuff!! It's Release time for My Favorite Things and I couldn't be more excited! I have LOTS to share tonight, so let's get started. If you feel the need to shop, right now....hop on over to the Brand Spankin' New section of the MFT Boutique.  I'll wait.....but come back I have a pretty cool project(s) to share! It's scrappy!
I am super excited about the new Liana Lamb Designs line for MFT. I have been a long time scrap booker. I love capturing moments of our life and putting it onto pages. I started Project Life this past year (not doing a great job of keeping up...but I'm trying!) so these new products are just what I needed to kick start my PL mojo.

I am OVER the MOON about the INSERT IT Die-namics! Now instead of cutting each of my inserts, I can run it through my Vagabond and done! Quick and easy. ♥ that! (I think I need another one, so I can do mulitples....yes, Jody is rubbing off on me ;)  hehehe) The JOURNAL IT-Top 10 is a must have. You NEED those journaling lines and all the other fun accents and words, too!

Since I had yet to use the DOCUMENT IT-DECEMBER stamp set by Liana Lamb Designs, I decided to get a jump on my holiday scrap booking. I tried to do the December Daily last year (you know, document each of the 25 days leading up to Christmas) and I failed at it miserably. I made it only to day 3.
I love the idea of it, and this year I am prepared thanks to this new product line from MFT! I decided to document the important details, traditions, and fun times of my family's holiday. I simplified the process, and tailored it TO ME!! :)

Here is the cover. I used almost a whole pack of the Authentique Papers-Festive for my project along with lovely MFT card stock in: Wild Cherry, Black Licorice, Kraft, Natural, and Jellybean Green.
I added a sentiment from this month's Triple Scoop Set, SEASONAL SENTIMENTS. Get it for FREE....you'll love it as much as I do. I added it to a layered TRADTIONAL TAGS STAX, and topped that with a layer of the original FISTHAIL FLAGS STAX  and the new FISHTAIL FLAGS LAYERS STAX Die-namics.
The year was cut, quick and easy with my BY THE NUMBERS Die-namics. A variety of ribbons from MFT, my beloved hemp twine, and a Natural Button and some bells finished off my cover page.

Check out the thickness of my album....it is a chip board album that is 5 pages front and back. Each one distressed and altered and stitched.

I used Scor-tape to attach the decorated pages to the actual chip board. You can see the holes I added to match the chipboard holes.

Here is the inside cover. I almost left it blank, but then decided at the last moment to add our last name with the fun new HIGH RISE ALPHABET UPPERCASE Die-namics.  I stamped the word "family" from DOCUMENT IT DECEMBER stamp set. A pretty FRAMED FLOURISH was just the right embellie.
Along with the fun lists we'll be writing into our family album, I added some spaced to place our photos. This one will be the photo we use for our Christmas Cards. I used a pencil to write in which picture will go where. No worries, the words can be erased or they will be covered with the actual picture we use.

The words from DOCUMENT IT-DECEMBER were stamped on a few die cut pieces from HOWDY FRAMES Die-namics and ACCENT IT-FLAGS AND TAGS. A sweet Wild Cherry button was tucked in the corner.

Next up is our holiday songs list. I am so excited to see what the boys will want to add to the list. It was a natural choice to use the MUSIC NOTES Die-namics

Here's a close up of the list. Check out the half circle I tucked in at the bottom of the list. The stamp detail comes from DOCUMENT IT-DECEMBER. You'll see I used this same element through out my album.

I don't go cookie crazy every year, but I do make a few favorite varieties. The boys love the cut out ones. It sure gets messy, but it's so much fun. I'll add a picture of the boys on this page.
I enjoyed looking through my Die-namics to find just the right elements. I was excited to find the BON APPETIT Die-namics. The oven mitt and rolling pin were a natural fit to my cookie badge.

The next page is for our movie list. Now that the boys are getting a little older, we can pull out some of the non-cartoon, traditional movies and enjoy them as a family. I slid in a little MINI FILM STRIP DIE-NAMCIS, along with a few elements from AT THE MOVIES
Along with a few tickets, I made it Christmasy by adding a fun snow flake, from LET IT SNOW Die-namics.

More details from this page.

Decorating the tree is always a highlight we always capture on film. I used the CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS DIE-NAMICS with this one.

The Trimming the Tree from the DOCUMENT IT-DECEMBER stamp set came in handy again. I love the sweet little holly leaves I added to the double ACCENT IT-FLAGS AND TAGS flags. The holly berries are three pearls that I colored with copics. I didn't have the right color, so my Copics were an easy fix.

Here is another look at the ornaments.

This is my favorite page of all. I always keep the boys' Christmas lists. This year it will make it easy to keep track of them. I made each one a little different, but used the INSERT IT DIE-NAMICS, stamped with the JOURNAL IT-TOP 10 and DOCUMENT IT-DECEMBER on all of them. I personalized each one with their initial.

I also made a pretty felt pocket (similar to how I made the silverware pocket from THIS post).

1. measure a piece of felt (I used Whip Cream felt) to 3.5 x 4.5. Then fold in half.

2. add a PINKING EDGE  before stitching it up.

3. Using your sewing machine, run a stitching up both sides.

Here is a close up. I wrapped the pocket with some JELLYBEAN GROSGRAIN and topped it with a BEAUTIFUL BOW. This Die-namics is soooo fun and really a must have.

Since this pocket is holding the boys' lists to Santa, I thought it was fun to tuck in a few words.  Love the "naughty" and "nice".

Here are each of the lists. Aren't they fun???

The final page will hold a picture of the boys with Santa. It's tradition and I'll get a picture as long as the boys will let me. The sentiment is another one from SEASONAL SENTIMENTS on the new FISHTAIL FLAGS LAYERS STAX DIE-NAMICS  . I love this set. I added a few snowflakes topped with some NATURAL BUTTONS and red twine..

I did the back cover to match the front. I kept it flat since it will be laying on a table.

I also have a 12x12 layout to share today, as well! Just a few more photos to share, I promise.
This past weekend we went to a Harvest Festival that had a corn maze. My dad took the boys through it. Doing that reminded my middle guy, Ryan, of this picture from last year. So, I stumbled upon it and decided to scrap it. Single pictures tend to get lost around here. They are safe once they are put onto a layout. Plus I had the perfect die, CORNSTALK Die-namics to accent the page. :)

Here are some detail shots. I added a strip of the WESTERN STARS BORDER DUO Die-anmics.  There is also a strip from the FISHTAIL FLAGS LAYERS STAX DIE-NAMICS, and the  small pointed banner piece from HOWDY FRAMES DIE-NAMICS. I also cut the tip off the CORNSTALK DIE-NAMICS to add a little sprig of corn husk to my NIGHT SHIFT BLUE BUTTON! Card stock is Night Shift Blue and Lemon Drop. The banners were a perfect journaling spot for my location and date.

Here is a close up of the photo and all it's goodies. See that polka dotted paper sticking from the top??? It's a scrap cut from the INSERT IT DIE-NAMICS. All I needed was a little bit from the top, so it made a nice accent piece, along with a few more circles from WESTERN STARS BORDER DUO DIE-NAMICS.

Here is the HOWDY FRAMES sign. I stamped the woodgrain stamp from LJD HOWDY STAMP SET.  The letters are BY THE LETTERS DIE-NAMICS (lower case).  A couple of LEMON DROP BUTTONS hold the sign in place.

Here is another look at the FISHTAIL FLAGS LAYERS STAX DIE-NAMICS. I also tucked in one of the ACCENT IT-FLAGS AND TAGS DIE-NAMICS.  I love the shape of those two banner pieces.

And finally, the CORNSTALKS and a look at the cool new HIGHRISE ALPHABET UPPERCASE DIE-NAMICS. SWOON!!! the long, tall letters are sooo pretty!

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you for hanging with my tonight. Be sure to leave comments along the way. There is mystery blog candy..... $50 MFT Gift Voucher!!!! It's going to one lucky winner.
