MFT VIP....Surf's Up!

Welcome! It's a fun filled night with the VIP Collection-Surf's Up from MFT! You'll want to pick this up quick....this month's collection is  a LIMITED QUANTITY product that gives you the opportunity to purchase upcoming stamp sets and Die-namics dies TWO WEEKS early.

I have lots to share, so let's get started. First up is the sweet PI-Surf Chick! I had fun with the CATCH A WAVE DIE-NAMICS and the CIRCLE STAX 1 & 2 DIE-NAMICS

I used the pretty Indie paper by My Mind's Eye and cut out a few different patterns of the waves.  I layered them up and then cut them out with the Circle Die-namics.

I colored up the Surf Chick with copics and pieced up the surf border, with some coordinating papers.

In the backdrop, I cut a TRADITIONAL TAG STAX and attached it to my card base (in love with the MFT Natural card stock....OMG! it's gorgeous!!!) with some fun zig zag stitching. I used the cute little flower to stamp along the JUMBO SQUIGGLE BORDER. The Cantaloupe Twine was a great match to my color scheme, so I tied some on with a pretty button.

I also did up the inside to match. I loooove this flowery paper and I let it take center stage. I did add a few more stamped flowers and added the sentiment from the FREE MINI set to the new SENTIMENT STRIPS DIE-NAMICS.  This set of four Die-namics is going to be another great way to show off lots of MFT sentiments.

I have a sweet matching surfer boy card.  I used more of the same papers and pulled out some of the more "masculine" colors and patterns.  I got a little graphic with this card and decided to use more circles.  I used more of the gorgeous Natural card stock and then gave it a frame with the Kraft card stock (love all the natural fibers running through these two papers).

Here is how I set up my circles to cut the negative spaces.  I use a little washi tape to hold them in place.

Here is how I pieced up the Surf Boy. One whole image left white, this is the base.

Add a surf board cut from pattern paper. I wasn't worried about cutting out the arm, since it would be covered up with the final, colored piece.

Finally, add the colored image as the final piece to the image.

Here is a close up of some of the graphic  designs in the card. I added some cut out waves to once of the circles.

And then I cut some of the JUMBO SQUIGGLES and lined them up like a puzzle. It was  fun piecing them together like a puzzle, and I love the look.

I made sure they covered the full Circle Die-namics I was using. Then I ran it through my Vagabond.

Here is what it looked like after I cut it. The embossed edge from the Circle STax Die-namics gives it that great polished look.

Here's a close up of the finished circle on the card front.

How about another shot of the finished card front.  You can see the other details I added....the burlap twine cross hatches at the top, it just needed a little something extra.

I also stamped the fun, "cowabunga" sentiment right onto one of the new SENTIMENT STRIP DIE-NAMICS.  Some more twine wrapped along the bottom and a few of the gorgeous HIBISCUS leaves finish this off.

I also wanted to use another sentiment from the PI-Surf Boy stamp set, so I did up the inside.

The new SENTIMENT STRIPS DIE-NAMICS was not quite wide enough for this double lined sentiment, so I went with a matching Die-namics-Layered Labels  (one of the many reasons I ♥ my Die-namics....so many pieces mix and match and work together!) and I added a strip of  Waves. I then pieced up a few more JUMBO SQUIGGLES, this time mixing patterns.
