Day 5-the last of the sneak peeks!

ONE more day till you can sign up for the August KOTM ( and till you see it's full Glory!!!!)!! Here's your last sneak peek! Think about all the layering you can do with this image!!!! Again, the sentiment is seperate from the image, making it sooooo versatile! Have a wonderful Friday!!! Hugs, Lisa

Paper Piecing with Stamp Something

I'm on vacation with the family spending time with my parents at their lake house. So I'm keeping this short. The Stamp Something challenge this week is paper piecing and our sponsor is Whiff of Joy stamps. I sadly don't own any of these adorable stamps so I used some Unity (see had to sneak it in there today somehow, lol!). The apple and sentiment are from Hodge Podge of Happiness. I pieced them with some fun October Afternoon dp, Cherry Hill. Check out what the Stamp Something DT has for you and come play along. All you have to do is link your card with paper piecing to the SS blog. Have fun and enjoy your weekend. Hugs, Lisa

Hip Hoppin' Sneak Peeks!!!

I'm sad to say that today is my last hip hop as a Unity Guest Designer. I have had to time of my life (well,my crafting life, anyway) and all of you have made it that much more FABulous!!! Thank-you for all the kind words and support. Thank-you to the DT members for being so accepting and fun to work with. You have all made my month!!!! Okay, enough of the mooshie stuff....on to the FUN stuff!!!! Hopefully you are arriving from Laura's blog, if not be sure to start at Angela's blog for all the Hip Hop details!!!!

Here's your day 4 August KOTM sneak peek!!!! I soooo love this image.

It is an awesome size. I used it here on this card, combined with the Confessions kit. Isn't it soooo sassy?!!!!
This image is going to look great on scrapbook pages too. I have two other fun cards for you today using some images from the August KOTM. I had fun playing with them.

I made a little chalkboard card. The little school house image is just adorable. Don't forget about the Frame This Alpha. I used it for the ABC on the board and inked them up with white craft ink. The rest of the sentiment is my own handwriting written with a white gel pen. This last one just makes me smile. Now I have something to make you smile!!!! You've reached the end of the Hip Hop!!!! Wanna win this set, Time for Travel???? I thought it was appropriate since so many people are away, including me. Just leave me a comment, be patient, and I'll draw a winner late Sunday when I get back from our little vacation. For now, hang out in the Hip Hop forum and join the fun!!!! Thanks for stopping by. Hugs, Lisa

Untiy Sneak Peek day 3!!!

It's day 3 for the Unity August KOTM Sneak Peeks!!!! ARe you loving them, or what?

The sentiment and bird on the branch image are seperate(like I used in my card below), BUT I love how this sentiment just nestles into the branch!

I did a card here with just the quote paired up with some October Afternoon dp, Road Maps. Wouldn't this be a fun card to throw into a suitcase for someone going off to college? Too, bad I don't know anyone leaving for college. Hugs, Lisa

Saturday Morning Post- Buttons Galore!!!

Good morning fellow stampers. Is it just me, or does it seem a little quiet out in blog land this last week? I hope that means you are all enjoying the summer. I'll keep this short. I've been playing with my buttons thanks to the new PTI set, Everyday Button Bits. I'm so glad I splurged and bought this set. It really is such an ingenious idea for a stamp set. I did these two on Wednesday. Among many things I love about this set, I have to say the sentiments are awesome!!! There are 11 (I think) and they are made to pair perfectly with the images. Plus I love how there are a mix of fonts, I just love that!
This card I did using the sketch challenge on SCS from this week. I had fun digging through my buttons looking for different sizes. I finished off each button in a different way. Hugs and Sunshine! -Lisa

Trick or Treat to a Hip Hop Beat!

Hello, Hello! I hope you just came from AJ's blog, and if not then hop on back to the beginning (Angela's blog) so you don't miss any of the wonderful creations today. We've got lots of treats for you today with a fabulous Halloween Hip Hop. Today is the release of this awesome new Halloween kit, Halloween Tree! You're gonna flip for this one, but then have you ever met a Unity stamp you didn't like? lol!
I've got 3 treats, not tricks for you today. I had soooo much fun making these. I really like this tree and the fact that it comes with 3 different sentiments makes it even more fantabulous! This first one is my fave sentiment. Have you heard the funny little-can't get it out of your head-catchy little tune Moose A. Moose sings on Noggin, "No, I don't like Candy corn"? Do you have toddlers, do you know the song? It cracks me up and that is the first thing I thought of when I read this sentiment. I on the other hand, adore candy corn-love that you can buy it in bulk! I used my markers (razzleberry, curry, and pumpkin) to made the sentiment look like candycorn. The layout is CASED from the SU catalog.I used the spotlight technique on this next card to highlight the yummy candies.
I layered up some punches to create the sentiment and finished it off with some sweet gingham ribbon. This last treat turned out just how I envisioned it. I LOVE to create this sponged background with any silhouette tree (see this one I did last year with the Growing in Unity tree) and knew these colors would help create the spooky nite sky just for the occasion. So there you have it, three treats from me. Now off you go to visit ****Christi****!!!
Happy Hopping! Hugs, Lisa

An half hour late...Oh well!

I finished this card this afternoon and decided to wait to photograph it and upload it. It's for Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge #12. Well, we ended up spending the evening with friends and I didn't get the kiddos in bed and asleep until almost 10:30 (EST). I still thought I was good, so I photographed it (sorry for the bad lighting, I'll try to re-shoot later with some sunlight) and then checked her blog. I missed the deadline by 33 minutes. Shucks!!! But, of course I'll share it anyway....I used all PTI-spring moss, raspberry fizz, and the new scarlet jewel. Oh, and the layout is this week's Card Patterns sketch 24. Check that!OMG! This new set is soooo stinkin' CUTE!!! You know I love buttons, but now I can use them for other things than embellishments for my ribbon or centers of flowers. I'll have more to share this weekend, since I started a few other cards I didn't get to finish today! If you haven't seen the new Everyday Buttons and Bits stamp set from PTI, GO LOOK here, too! All right, I'm off to bed. Actually I'm going to finish watching the Bachelorette: The Men Tell All from Monday night. Man I love our DVR, what did I ever do without it??? Hugs, Lisa

CAS Monday on a Tuesday!

I decided to hold these off till today (only 1 day late) since I had two posts yesterday. The CAS challenge this week is a color challenge-Turquoise, Orange, and Yellow!!! Use these colors with your CAS cards and be sure to link them to the SCS gallery using the keyword: CAS24. I made two this week. Here you go! The first is all Unity stamps. I couldn't pass up the Confessions kit the other week when Angela put it on sale. Colors I used were-bermuda bay, crushed curry and pumpkin pie (all SU!).
This second one is all SU!!!! I {heart} this little monsters/alien set. It is perfect for my little boy cards and pages. Colors on this one are crushed curry, pumpkin pie, and tempting turquoise. This card is going out to my nephew. His birthday is next week and I know he'll love this! Here's the challenge thread over on SCS. Stop on by! Hugs, Lisa

Two-Post Monday!!!

It's a bonus Monday with 2 posts from ME! If you are looking for the MFT Blog Hop, please scroll down.
I always chuckle to myself, because it never fails, most of my BIG blog events happen on the same day! Today is Monday and Monday's are always the Unity's Guest Designer day on Angela's blog. I'm starting to get sad thinking about my time with Unity coming to an end. sniff, sniff!! I can't get over how fast July is flying by (my kids start school in a MONTH-eeee!) I am having a blast and can't say it enough-I am so grateful for this opportunity and for all the wonderful support from all of you!!! It's what keeps me going! Thank-YOU! Okay, I'll keep the rest of this short. First up is this sweet page of my little guy. I do have to share a little of the back story to this picture....I know a lot of you mom-stampers-blog/computer junkies can relate. Nicholas fell asleep like this waiting for me to get off the computer. It was nap time and I kept saying, "just one more minute", well he didn't have another minute in him and zonked out right on the living room floor waiting for me. I know, bad mom, BUT look at the adorable page I was able to create. I used one of Jennifer Buck's CAS scrapbook layouts with the yummy June Bug papers and Unity's July incentive kit, Stylin' Stars! Get this set for FREE when you sign up for the July KOTM!!!!
These owls just make me smile! They are part of the Hodge Podge of Happiness kit. And just because I {heart} buttons....I made this last card for today! The sweet cherries and sentiment are from the June 09 KOTM!
Okay, so maybe not so short, but I tried! Have a beautiful day! Hugs, Lisa

Celebrate MFT!!!! July Blog Hop!

oooooo, this is fun! I was just so tickled when Joanne asked me to be a part of the first official customer blog hop for Celebreate My Favorite Things Day! I've had to keep this underwraps for a few weeks now and it's always fun (and a relief) when the day finally arrives when I can share the good news. SO sit back and enjoy the wonderful inspiration and creativity as you follow along with me on this hop.
The list of participants this month is amazing (and each month that follows, I'm sure!). Want to be a part of the fun next month? All you have to do is use your MFT stamps, play along with some or all of the MFT challenges each week in the SCS forum. Then, Joanne and the other wonderful DT members will be busy deciding who will be the lucky participants each month. The best part is, the winners will be kept a secret until the actual day of the hop! Find all the details here. But for today, be sure to come play along, get your MFT stamps inky and Celebrate MFT DAY! Use the keyword "CelebrateMFT0709" in the SCS gallery.
If you are following along and you just came from Megan's blog then you are right where you need to be. If you are just jumping in here, be sure to head back to the start of the hop with Joanne. We don't want you to miss any of the fun! Now on to my card! I'm in love! This card came out just like I envisioned it. I used the super cute set, Rainy Day Friends designed by Stephanie Fizer (remember the darling little rain coat girl from a card last week, yeah, well this is all part of that same set!). I tell you , I am in love with this froggie! and the cute little umbrella is just the perfect size to keep him dry. Can you see my rain drops on the umbrella. Here's a close up! I paper pieced all the images and the chipboard heart with some papers from my stash. I even used the cute swirled circle stamp to add a little extra detail to the heart! So there you have it....now off to the next blog. I was sooo super excited to find out my dear stamping buddy, Crystal was also picked this month AND I get to link to her. So go see what fabulous eye candy Crystal has for you. Happy Celebrate MFT Day! Hugs, Lisa

Lavender Lace, what do you think?

We are off enjoying a few days at the lake, again, and finally!!! I was mad stamper woman earlier this week and even squeezed in a few challenges. The color challenge on SCS was Lavender Lace, Banana, Going Grey, Black and White. The Lavender lace threw my a curve ball and banana always makes me think of baby cards (I didn't want to make a baby card). Here are two I made-one is cute-sie and the other is elegant. This is an SUO card using my new fave ribbon (the striped grosgrain) and a new Level 1 set, Lvoe Bug. This one uses Unity stamps (July and April KOTM) and the lovely lattice Bigz die. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Lisa

Pat Yourself on the Back!

Welcome to the Unity Hip Hop. I am SOOOO enjoying my time as a Guest Designer this month. If you just came from Robyn's blog , you are on the right path. If you just happened here by chance, be sure to start at Angela's blog so you don't miss any of the SALE info or any of the wonderful creativity.
OMG! You girls (and any guys) did good!!! You are soooo going to LOVE the new Customer Kit, Hodgepodge of Happiness. I'm sure most of you have seen it, heck, most of you helped create it. It was such an ingenious way to get us all involved. All last month we voted on what images we wanted to see in the kit. Well here it is, in it's full Glory!!!!
Isn't it just wonderful? I know many of you already pre-ordered it, but today is the official release day. So if you haven't ordered it, GO order it !!!
I didn't know where to start. There were so many images I was dying to get inky. Sooooo what better way than to create a little set of love notes-six little 3x3 cards all with the same basic layout.

I did a lot of paper piecing (just can't seem to get enough of that Basic Grey Lemonade paper!!!) and added the fun little ribbon-button treatment and I'm so happy with how these turned out.

The other card I have for you today, is seriously, I think one of my favorite card I have made in a long time. Of course it helps when you have such a darling image to work with (and more of that yummy paper). This tree was my absolute FAVE image we voted on.

I left off a sentiment so I could personalize this card when I felt ready to give it away. Although, I am honestly thinking of keeping it and framing it. It would make the cutest little bit of artwork for my craft room! Keep on Hoppin'!!! Your next stop is AJ!!!! I know she'll have something fabulous to dazzle you with! Happy Hip Hop and thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend! Hugs, Lisa

Have you Danced in the Rain?

I can't say I've ever danced in the rain, but I have played in it. It is one of my favorite things to do with the boys in the summer time. It doesn't happen very often, but usually at least once or twice we'll head outside during a rainy day when it's warm. They think it is the best thing. Simple pleasures I tell you, simple pleasures. Here's a card for the MFT sketch challenge this week. I just love this new stamp set. I find it hard to resist anything Stephanie Fizer designs. Check them out at MFT Stamps. The sentiment reads, "anyone who thinks sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain."
CS: textured celery and basic black, stampers select white, jillibean soup dp
Ink: momento tuxedo black, new leaf (PTI)
Accessories: marvy 2 in circle punch, scalloped circle nestie, celery twill ribbon, copics, dimensionals, horizontal slot punch

It's Thursday!!!! That Means it's Hip Hop Time!!!

Oh, yeah, oh yeah! Have we got a treat for you today!!!! I was super thrilled to find out today is the day of a new alphabet by Unity!!!! You are going to LOVE it! Before I get too excited, I hope you just arrived here from Wendy's blog. But if you are just getting started, be sure to start the Hip Hop back at Angela's blog (don't want you to miss out on any of the fun!!!).
I am an alphabet junkie! I've got a ton of alphas and I love to mix and match fonts and styles. Unity has a lot of alphabets AND this one is perfect! I know I'll use it over and over. Plus, it is like getting a little bonus when you purchase this kit, not only does it come with Upper and Lower (LOVE that!!) it ALSO includes 3 fun tag/frame elements. The letters fit perfectly inside!
The new kit is called Frame This Alpha.
I used it on 3 different projects today. First up is the layout I did of 2 of my little monkeys! I used all lower case on my title and then combined a few images from Everyday Adorable. I just love the little quote, " Children make you want to live life over again." Here's a close up of the actual alpha.
On these next two projects you get an idea of how the letters and the frames work together.
I used the miss you sentiment, omitting the I, from the July KOTM (oh, the flowers come from the kit, too!). I used the capital I from the alpha and stamped it inside the cute little scalloped circle (this one is my fave!). I punched it out using my yellow Marvy Scallop circle punch (I think it's the extra jumbo size). You can just use scissors to cut it out, too. Next up is a little pillow box pouch I made for one of my BFF's. Her birthday is today and I got her a Pandora bead, put it in the pouch and added her mongram to the ribbon. This time used the tag frame image. I was able to punch this one out using my Small Tag punch by SU.

Keep on hoppin', enjoy all the inspiration. I know there will be LOTS of it!

From here head on over to the Uber talented Heather B. Happy Hip Hoppin'! Hugs, Lisa
