CAS #2-this one with Irridescent Ice

I don't' like the mess of glitter, I think that is why I don't use it very much. If I am going to use it I prefer to glam up my cards with Iridescent Ice embossing powder. It is almost mess free. I used it here on this card (another SUO card can you believe it ;) I thought the limes and lemon looked great with this fun Goodmoring Sunshine dsp! I stamped the fruit twice, once on the card base and then another time on scrap paper. I didn't have kiwi craft ink and I wanted to use the iridescent ice embossing powder, so a little trick you can do with any of the SU classic ink pads is stamp first in Versamark and then stamp again directly onto the classic ink pad color you want. Then add your embossing powder to add sparkle to any color ink! I punched those embossed pieces with a 1 inch circle punch and popped them up with a dimensional. The sentiment is created with the new modern label punch, and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. finished off with a build a brad! Hope this makes you smile! Hugs, Lisa

CAS Monday!

You'll have fun with this week's CAS challenge. It's a way to use it challenge. Time to pull out your glitter, stickles and irredescent ice embossing powder! Glam up those CAS creations this week. I made three cards for this week's challenge, but I'm spreading them out and will share the other's throughout the week. I'm gearing up for my big Unity guest designer debut on Thursday-I've been busy stamping and I'm getting excited and nervous all at the same time. It's a busy week with the 4th of July holiday, my 9yr. wedding anniversary, and the start of the boys swim lessons-I'm trying to stay ahead of the game. Anyway, enough chit chat here's one of my cards to share to day!

The layout is CASEd from the new catty (2 more days and the new SU catty goes LIVE!). I added lots of mono multi to a chipboard star (I cut it myself with the Stars 2 bigz die and some scrap chipboard pieces) and then covered it with sparkly blue glitter. I also finally used the Define Your Life set. I thought the Wish definition was a perfect fit with the star. I used Taken with Teal marker to highlight the specific part of the definition, "wish upon a star". Be sure to upload your CAS glitterfied creations to the CAS thread on SCS using keyword, CAS21. Enjoy your day!

GSG Preview Swap

I almost wasn't going to swap with the preview items I ordered. I was just going to wait until we did our new catty swaps. I held off, until some gentle nudging took place, and then I said what the hey. Because I signed up late and I only ordered two sets, I didn't have much choice (we like to keep the swaps balanced with a wide variety of samples so we keep it to 2 or 3 people per set). I picked to use the new sentiment set, Teeny Tiny Wishes. You are going to LOVE this set, if you don't already. It's got it all in there, with lots of fun fonts. I focused on a fun new color combo (cased from the new catty)-Old Olive, Razzleberry, Bermuda Breeze and Crushed Curry. I did some distressing, stitching and added a fun circle image from Circle Circus to help set off my sentiment (along with the NEW Modern Label Punch). I cranked out 11 of these in about an hour and twenty minutes! I added an olive brad to this card, but some of the others have a Rose Red brad (from the Rich Regals brad pack) and I think is looks great with the razzleberry color. It's not a perfect match, but a great compliment. My parents are in town so I'm off to have some fun with them and the boys. See you Monday! Hugs, Lisa

Embellish Something!

This week's Stamp Something challenge is to embellish something. I think embellishments are my favorite part of a card. Who doesn't love pretty ribbons, buttons, flowers? This week's sponsor comes from the awesome online store, My Little Ribbon Shop. I've had the privilege of working with Brandi (she owns/runs the store) on the Limelight Papercrafts DT. She is so sweet and her store carries some of the hottest items on the market-ummmm, yummy May Arts ribbon! The embellishments I used on this card are the fun polka dotted paper pieces. They are covered chipboard pieces and the one in the middle is actually a little frame. I also added the hemp fibers and black gingham ribbon to help accent this cute card. My 9 yr. wedding anniversary is on the 1st of July and I made this card for my DH. I know, not your usual lovely dovey card, but it is perfect for us. I did up the inside. Stamps are by Unity.

Come play along for a chance to win a prize. Just link your card to the Stamp Something blog and you'll be entered to win a prize, courtesy of My Little Ribbon Shop. Have a great weekend. My parents are in town and blueberry season is upon us. We are going picking tomorrow morning! Hope it isn't too hot! I LOVE fresh blueberries! If you haven't ever gone picking, do it, it is so much fun! Hugs, Lisa

PTI Blog Hop

As usual this date always sneaks up on me. It's Papertrey Ink blog hop time. I finished my card earlier today and I love it. Hope you do too. I glanced at the challenge the other day (find a summer inspiration piece) and then I stumbled onto this summer image that inspired me. It is this relaxing scene from Potterybarn. I just love the colors-the blues of the water, browns from that comfy chair, and the pop of yellow with those lanterns and the beer! I also loved the movement of the waves, the lines and curves of the chair. This is what inspired me to create this card. I really wanted to use the boat image from Men of Life, but I don't have it, so I used what I had. Can't go wrong with flowers. I used Beautiful blooms, Papertrey (love this original PTI sentiment set), and polka dot basics for this card. Here's a close up of the details on the flowers. I'm off to check out all the other summer inspiration. Come join the fun in the PTI forum. Hugs, Lisa

Limelight Sketch and Product Challenge #24

Glad you are here! Today I have a Limelight sketch and product challenge for you. The product focus this week is Ribbon, this is what brought me to Limelight in the first place. I love their ribbon selection. Check it out. Here's the sketch for you to work with. I had some kiddo birthday cards to make, so I pulled out my cute little Billy set. I played with a fun color combo of the new SU color, Bermuda breeze paired with Kiwi Kiss and grey polka dotted paper by October Afternoon, Cherry Hill. Don't you like the little lilly pad I created? The ribbon is white satin ribbon that I colored with my copics (BG15). Be sure to see what the rest of the DT did with the sketch. Amy, Lorie, Lee, JenMarie, Ryann, and our Guest designer Nikki. It's a basic sketch but it has soooo many possiblities! Have fun and be sure to link your card up to Mandy's post by Sunday. Here are the deets for a chance to win a prize:
***Use the sketch provided and think Rhinestones!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC024.
**Post a comment with a link to your card on Mandy's post by Sunday, June 14, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).

Stamps for a Worthy Cause

If you spend anytime in blogland (you're here, so you are around at least a little bit!) then you have been seeing this cute new Little Billy and Lily set by Pink Cat Studios-Weiman Wranglers. Stop right now and go get it!
It's a digi stamp set and procedes go to Help us honor the life of Ethan Weiman by purchasing the Weiman Wranglers Digital Stamps. All proceeds will go to the Make A Wish Foundation of Illinois, per request of the family, in Ethan’s honor! Make A Wish fulfilled Ethan’s wish last year, when they gifted him with his horse Sanador, and a barn! The Weiman's story is sad, but now you can do your part to honor sweet little Ethan. You can read about his story here. Have the kleenex close by. I love the sweet little Billy stamps by Pink Cat Studios, and adding this to my collection just seemed right. Plus it is a small something that I can do, that may mean the world to someone else. I'm still not a huge fan of digi sets yet, but ONE of the things I really like about them is the instant gratification-you can use them right away! I purchased my download and 15 minutes later I was coloring this cute little cowboy and putting this card together. Can't wait to do my blog hopping and see all the adorable cards and projects made with this set. See you tomorrow! Hugs, Lisa

Summery Combo and Still Itching

Thanks for all your sweet words and well wishes yesterday. I am still itching today and now have something else going on, or maybe it's the same thing just a different reaction to the poision ivy. I now have hives on my legs. Yeah, see if I ever get in those flower beds again, UGH! Good 'ol doctor DH, finally says it's time for some meds, hopefully they will knock this out. The color challenge on SCS this week is Pacific Point, Tangerine Tango, and Summer Sun-nice and summery! Here's what I did.

I used my lables #2 die to create the fun shape on the main image panels. Stamps are Unity June KOTM colored with copics. I used 2 of my last four pacific point corduroy brads along with the tangerine ribbon. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs, Lisa

Can CAS be too Simple?

I was in need of some stamping therapy. I have been miserable with a patch of poison ivy on my right arm. It's ugly, itchy, and sore. I don't ever remember having poison ivy this bad. I was feeling pretty down yesterday and then I realized that it had been almost 5 days since I had stamped. I went down stairs and cranked out a few cards. Let me say, it is just what I needed. I used this Fall-to-Layout 46 and the paper piecing CAS challenge to create this card. I used the MFT set, Hot Stuff, and stitching to create my border. This was super quick. Can clean and simple ever be too simple? Hugs, Lisa

CAS20-Paper Piecing

I will definitely have to make a few more CAS cards for this challenge. Paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques. It is a great way to add punch to a CAS card. We are still out at the lake and tomorrow is my SIL's birthday. So I'm keeping it super short today. I made this fun card for her. You know I love Giggle Grove and it is one of the best sets for paper piecing. Today I took the smaller version, Itsy Bitsy Giggles, and pieced it up with fun October Afternoon papers. Ribbon, stamps, button, and paper are all from Limelight Papercrafts! Happy Monday! Hugs, Lisa

Post no.2 for today!

Hip Hop Hangover
Let the fun begin! It's a Friday addition of Hip Hop Hangover! If you are looking for my Stamp Something post, scroll down. We are giving the lake another go this weekend, hoping for better weather than we had last weekend. The boys are dying to go tubin'. I played along with the Hip Hop challenges and got my June KOTM all inky. The first challlenge-Unity Takes the Cake. I made my ice cream all frosty with yummy stickles glitter! After I had the card all put together, I realized I could have made this into a cupcake by taking off the bottom layer of the cone. There's always next time, right? LOL! Here's a detail shot of the frosting.
Next up was Bits & Pieces and Unity-use scraps on your card. I had all this in my scrapbasket, except for my card base. I've seen lots of these scrappy flowers floating around blogland lately, so I decided to give one a go. I used some Pink Flamingo dsp topped off with a button. Here's a close up of that!

So that's it for today. I'll be back on Monday with my CAS challenge card. Enjoy the weekend! Hugs, Lisa

Add Some Color

This week Paper Make-Up Stamps joins us at Stamp Something as our sponsor. Have you heard of these stamps, yet? Omg! Katie has some of the cutest images and if you like fairies, well this is your place. I think fairies are cute and all, but with a house full of boys, fairies aren't so popular. BUT, dinos and little monsters are!! Check out PMS stamps and see for yourself just how cute they are. Be sure to play along with this week's challenge for a chance to win some PMS! Oh, the challenge this week is to ADD some color, just one color, though-make a black and white card and you can add one additional color.
My one other color, obviously is RED! I just loved this little guy (too bad my boys didn't play ball this spring, I want to give this card to a coach), Joe the Baseball squid. I colored him with copics and then sponged in some dirt and cut him out with some circle nesties. I made a little tent-topper card. The sentiment is from PTI, Limitless Labels stamp set. Be sure to see what other fun images the rest of the DT used for their cards and then play along. Link up your creations by next Wednesday on the Stamp Something Blog for a chance to win. Have fun and a great weekend! Hugs, Lisa

Just Bee-cause!

I told you yesterday my Unity June KOTM came on Monday. The other image (besides the cherries) I was dying to ink up was these whimsical wild flowers! I paired them up with close to cocoa and yummy, crushed curry to make this CAS card. I embossed the flowers with versamark and white embossing powder on some Parisian Breeze specialty dsp. I then stamped the cute little bee and sentiment, you're beautiful, and added them to the top corner! Have a good one! See you tomorrow with a new Stamp Something Challenge! Hugs, Lisa

Way to Start Out a Wednesday!

I got the morning off from being MOM! The boys stayed at Nana and Papa's last night (Tim and I went to a Dave Matthew's Band concert!) and I got to sleep in! I didn't get out of bed until 8:45 and I'm still sitting here drinking coffee and surfing the web at 9:30 am! It feels sooo nice to have these rare moments of peace and quiet (even Tim is gone to an appt.). As if that wasn't enough, I then find out that I got two different honorable mentions for some of my hard work! THE Nichole Heady from PTI, gave my strawberry card a shout out. I am a bit in shock! Check it out here! Then, I see THIS on the Jillibean Blog (Bean Talk). My Sprout Flower Pot card was also mentioned (go check out the winner! Tracey did something awesome with those sprouts! I knew she would win!).
To help put a smile on your face, I'll share this card with you. I got some of my Unity June KOTM images inky yesterday! The SCS color challenge was-baja breeze, ruby red (I used riding hood red) and white. I also used this awesome sketch from Card Patterns.
Yes, it is a good day! We are off to pick the boys up and then head out to King's Island to ride some rides. Hope your Wednesday is a Happy One! Hugs, Lisa

Raspberry Suite CC no.9

It's the 9th color challenge Dawn McVey has posted on her blog. I got a few minutes this morning, okay, more like 20, to pull this card together. Here's the inspriation piece. And here is my card! I used textured Vanilla cardstock along with PTI's bitty dots in black and white and some new leaf cs. The embellishments are some vinatge prima flowers paired up with New Leaf vintage buttons. The sentiment is from Green Thumb.
Thanks for taking a peek! See you tomorrow! Hugs, Lisa

Dear Dad

So you saw the sentiment yesterday on the fishie card. As soon as I finished that card, I bopped myself on the forehead and said, "duh! Pair this up with that deer!" and so I did! This is for my sweet, dear, FIL!Similar layout to the CAS 19 challenge, just with out the repetitive stamping. Trying to use up some of my "old" In Color stash....making room for the new stuff! Pacific point, baja breeze, and kiwi (Rockability dsp) on this one. Have a great Tuesday! Hugs, Lisa

CAS19-Tasher's Sketch

Hello, Hello! I had so much fun (I know, I say this every week!) working with this sketch by Natasha or tashers on SCS. I love her card and I couldn't stop creating with it! I thought the repetitive stamping was so fun. I just love working with this size card, 4.25 inch square. I've got a fun assortment for you today! Check them out! I'll start with my favorite, just cause I {{{heart}}} the color combo-soft suede, bermuda bay, crushed curry, and rich razzleberry! The stamps are Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Wishes. Check out that new label punch-Modern Label!

I've been busy working on some Father's Day cards. My dad's a big fisherman, so I know he'll get a kick out of this card. The fishies are from Just Beachy and the sentiment is from Holiday Blitz.

Last but not least, here's one with some Unity love. I used a mix of different sentiments from lots of different stamps (got the idea from a recent CAS scrapbook page). The colors are PTI-raspberry fizz, berry sorbet, melon berry.

Come play along with the CAS challenges. There's a new one posted every Monday! Hugs, Lisa

Jillibean Bouquet

I made another fun paper flower pot, this time with yummy Jillibean Soup Journaling Sprouts. Jillibean is holding a contest and this is my entry. I've had this idea in my head since I read about the journaling sprout contest and today I finally created it. I used 3 different sized journaling sprouts and punched out the center of two of them to pop them up on an accent color (some of the new SU In Colors-curry, bermuda bay and melon mambo) I also accented with some kaiser rhinestones and a vintage button. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes (available July 1). You know me, I love the kraft with the bright cheery colors. Enjoy! Hugs, Lisa

Old Meets New

ahhhhhh! it felt soooo good to stamp with the new 2009-2010 In Colors. They are the best yet!I used a simple layout with the top note die, Razzleberry Lemonade dsp, Circle Circus and Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp sets and some Razzleberry polka dotted grosgrain ribbon. There is also a splash of Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo.
I'm such a copy cat sometimes, LOL! I saw my good friend, Kristen use the Wild About You set the other day and so I thought I should ink mine up. This is one of the only sets I am sad about loosing to it's retirement. I love this fun little gator. This set will definitely stay in my collection, though.
What do you think about this color combo? It is one of my faves from the new catty-Bashful blue, Old Olive (I did use a bit of kiwi on the gator. Oh, and the button, too) and Razzleberry! I inked up only the "hello" from the Hello Baby stamp (from Teeny Tiny Wishes), which just sold me on the In Color markers (and I thought I could do with out, geesh. who was I kidding?). The dotted background is from Circle Circus. I'll have more sneak peeks tomorrow along with my CAS challenge cards. Happy Sunday! Hugs, Lisa

Color Challenge-white?.....

This week I played along with SCS color challenge (can you believe I haven't stamped since Tuesday!). Of all weeks to jump back in, I pick the week of white! Yes, the challenge this week was to use a white card base and make it a single layer. You could add other colors of ink, BUT the base had to be white. I kept it super simple and with a little cutting and masking I created this.
I stamped my fave flowers from the Unity May KOTM twice, once on my card front and another time on scrap paper. I cut out the image from the scrap paper and maksed the flowers on my base and then sponged on pacific point and kiwi kiss. That was it! I did emboss a cute scalloped border on my card base with some rectangle nestabilities and finished it off with a bit of gingham ribbon. I WILL be stamping today, I finally got my hands on my SU new catty pre-order! OMG! I {{{{heart}}} the new catty and the new In Colors, you will too! I hope to have a fun sneak peek for you, if not tomorrow, then definitely Monday! Hugs, Lisa

Betcha Never Expected this!

LOL! Yes, it's a Halloween card today. Felt kind of weird making this one this week, but like I said yesterday it kind of feels good to be ahead of the game. LOL! This is my Stamp Something challenge card this week. We have a sketch challenge for you to work with. Come play along, link you creation to Mr.Linky, and you could win a prize. This week's sponsor is Dog Gone Stamps. They were so kind to share some rubber with us, and I got this spooky pumpkin to work with. I pieced him with some Pumpkin prints dp (by SU). The sentiment was done with my PTI Fresh Alphabet. Everything else is SU products.
Stop by the Stamp Something Challenge blog to see what the DT did with this sketch. Have a great weekend! Hugs, Lisa

Limelight Sketch and Product Focus

We have a great sketch, like always, to share with you this week. I did something a little different with it, and love how it turned out. We are out at the lake house so I had to work ahead on my DT commitments so I could have to these posts all scheduled this week. shhhhh, don't tell anyone, but it feels so good to be ahead of the game! hehehehe! Here's what you have to work with.Oh, and our product focus this week is BLING! Get out your rhinestones and make your card all sparkly and pretty! If you need some bling, Limelight is your place! Mandy has a HUGE inventory of these beauties. They just got in the new Kaiser Kraft colors. Check them out!

I used three different papers from October Afternoon's Ducks in a Row, added the rhinestones, and yummy satin ribbon. Get it all at the store! I'm getting brave with my machine and even stitched on my butterfly to add some detail. The sentiment is from Unity's Tiny Trinity (I love this little hello, I find myself using it a lot!).
***Use the sketch provided and think Rhinestones!
**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC023.
**Post a comment with a link to your card on
Mandy's post by Sunday, June 14, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).
**PRIZE ~ One packageof Prima Say it in Crystals Rhinestone-shapes, summer, or flowers-winners choice. (Winner is chosen randomly from all participants.)
Come follow me and see what the DT has created with this sketch! Amy, Lorie, Lee, JenMarie, Ryann, and our Guest designer Nikki. Have a great Thursday! Hugs, Lisa

Monster Smiles!

You want a chance to win some MFT dollars (to spend in their store of course)? Every week there is a challenge posted and if you play along and the judges pick your card, you will win $10. I love these challenges simply for the fact that it forces me to use my fun, My Favorite Things stamps. If you have them, you should use them. Here's this weeks challenge. You have to have it linked to the gallery by Wednesday. The challenge was to use 3 different designer papers, but the catch is, they have to be from 3 different lines of paper. I paper pieced my monsters with A Walk in the Park (SU), Cherry Hill (October Afternoon) and Off Beat (Basic Grey). These little guys just make me SMILE, hope they do you too! Hugs, Lisa

Sports Inspiration

Yesterday I said I would have some soccer inspiration for you all and I guess I could go even more general and say, "here's some sports inspiration" for you. I did this card up for my boys' soccer coaches and then decided to complete a page from Joshua's Spring 08 soccer season using the same papers. The card uses the Fall to Layout #44 and some yummy Jillibean Soup dp. Green card base and twill ribbon are New Leaf from PTI!
So from here I used the sketch from the cool new Scrapbook sketch blog, Scrap and Stamp, started by my friend Alex (along with her friend, Melissa). Here's the sketch, it's such a clean and simple one to work with. I did modify it a bit by leaving off the little accent top piece and by making it a pocket to hold the individual and team photos. My title was done with Basic Grey chipboard alpha and then inked up with some pumpkin craft ink. I rarely use staples in my paper crafting, never have been a fan of them, BUT I must say they actually look good and work well here. I used them to attach my tabs to the photos and to create my pocket for the folders. Not sure if you can see them in this picture, but they are there. Guess, what? There is a prize up for grabs. Limelight Papercrafts is their first sponsor and Mandy is offering up a FAB prize. All you have to do is create a page with this sketch and link it up on the Scrap and Stamp blog. That's all for today! See you tomorrow with some MFT monster smiles! Hugs, Lisa

Start your week with CAS

I have said it before and I'll say it again. I think CAS is a great way to start the stamping week. I love these challenges. This week is a color challenge and you know I love it because guess what one of the colors is? Any guesses? Were you right?...Kraft!!!! If you have been following my blog then you know I {{{{heart}}}} Kraft. If you are new around here, just take a scroll through my previous posts, you'll see I use it ALL the time! So for CAS18, your challenge is to use pinks/corals & Kraft + one other color! Easy 'nough! Be sure to link your creation to the SCS gallery with keyword: CAS18. I did two for this challenge, but this first one is the sample on the SCS challenge thread.

My colors here are Raspberry Fizz, Kraft, and Chocolate chip. I used two of my favorite bigz dies-top note and beautiful butterfly. I added a chocolate vintage button and stitched raspberry ribbon (both PTI) and the butterfly trail was stamped with a sentiment from Flight of the Butterfly (SU). Bonus, this also works with Dawn's Raspberry Suite color challenge #8!
This one uses some of my new papers by October Afternoon, Ducks in a Row! The flower is from Unity March KOTM. I stamped it in versamark and clear embossed it. finished it off with a Berry Sorbet vintage button and linen thread. Have a fabulous Monday! See you back here tomorrow with some soccer inspiration! Hugs, Lisa

One More for Today! This week was FABULOUS!

Pinch me, I think I am dreaming. This week was almost too much, almost, but I am not complaining. Actually, keep the good news acomin'! So this week I have told you I made the CAS challenge DT on SCS, yesterday I found out I won a guest DT spot with Unity (yeah!) and earlier in the week I found out I was picked to be the guest desginer for Card Patterns. Remember this card? Yep, Michelle and the girls at Card Patterns picked it as the winner. So I am being showcased today. Go check it out! I am just tickled and very thankful for the chance to hang with these girls this week! Here's this week's sketch, it's pretty straight forward and oh, so fun. And guess who the sponsor is this week? Unity!!!! What could be better? Be sure to play along for your own chance to be a Guest Desinger or to win some Free Unity! yippee! I loved this sketch because it gave me a chance to play around with some different patterns of paper. I made two cards, one with Unity stamps and one SUO! The first uses all things from Limelight Papercrafts (except the stamped images(their from the May KOTM), although you can find lots of other Unity goodies in the store. Plus there's 20% off your entire order. Go see for yourself!). Mandy got in the new Shimmerz Spritz and WOW! this stuff is pretty cool. It adds a ton of shimmer and I got the truffle color which to me, kind of gives an aged/antiquey look. I love it. I don't know if you can see it, but here's a close up. Here is the SUO card I did with this sketch. I'm trying to use up some of my SU stash to make room for the new goodies coming my way!
Paper is from Urban Oasis and the stamps are Great Friend! I glittered up the butterfly with black craft ink and irridescent ice embossing powder! I'm done for the weekend. Come back Monday morning for my CAS challenge card! Hugs, Lisa
